The matching numbers 396ci 375hp L78 engine was the biggest & baddest that any Chevelle could have in 1968. The 375hp Solid Lifter engine along with her factory M21 4speed transmission. was a true powerhouse and is highly sought after today. To top it all off. this Chevelle SS has traveled a mere 14500 in its lifetime and is virtually still new. It gets better still! I bought it form original owner. It just doesnt get any better. But it does!! This Chevelle SS came from the factory with a very rare color combination of Fathom Blue. a one year only color. with a black vinyl top and beautiful white interior. The car has been refinished in its factory color a few years ago and looks like new. This beautiful color choice gives the appearance of several different colors depending on its position in the sun or shade. Typically a very deep blue. it can also be seen as black or even dark gray. It is one of the rarest and nicest colors we've ever seen on any Chevelle. Needless to say. the car is 100% rust free. pin straight and has never been hit or dented. All chrome and trim is original and is near perfect as is the black vinyl top. While it has had a top shelf repaint. the rest of the car is completely original. The engine has never been touched and again. has just 14. 00 actual miles. Special suspension was an option. The car drives like a new car. It starts instantly. drives straight and shifts PERFECTLY in every gear. Response to putting the pedal to the metal is amazing and extremely impressive. She stops on a dime with her optional front & rear power disc brakes; a rare & high priced $100. 10 option in 1968. The interior is original in every way. Strato-Bucket seats were an option and look incredible for being over 47 years old. The scrolling tach in the center of the dash was a very cool feature for 1968. Other options include power steering. power disc brakes.
