1966 Chevelle SS 396 4 Speed Optioned 138 VIN.
This car has been in dry storage for the last few years. Before being tucked away the owner tore apart the front end of the vehicle to replace with new parts. A father and son project that didn'twork out. Was told the car was in the family since 6 months off the assembly line.
The car front end was rusted and removed and disposed off. It was not in an accident. The rust in this car is in the truck area. You can get a complete trunk replacement kit for under $300. The pans have some rust that would need patched but not bad.... take a look at pics. As you can see the interior is in great shape - throw new carpet and some touch-up and detailing and inside is done! The doors close like new and the glass is good all around except the front shield. It has the original console and tach in place!
It's currently the original paint color. The 396 has been missing for many years and it was replaced and driven with the 307 (bolted in currently) 4 speed trans (not connected currently). The front grill and bumpers are strapped on the front for shipping. The rails on this car are in great shape and under the car still has much of the original undercoating.
This could make a beautifulcar that when completed are very expensive collector musclecars... do some research and you will find all the front end parts to this car are available and for less then $2500.00 you could replace the whole front clip.
