New in 1985 was a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, the Turbo Hydramatic 200-4R, with a revised sports rear axle ratio containing 3.73:1 gears became... standard on the SS. The current owner purchased it from a GM employee and has owned it for the last 34 years. Just recently it has had 4 new BF Goodrich tires installed and brake work done as well. The burgundy exterior remains in very solid condition. The paint does show its age, but still very presentable. The interior is very neat and tidy and the seats are comfortable. The car is powered by its 5.0 v8 paired with an automatic transmission. The car runs down the road as it should and is a blast to drive.
