Description for Chevrolet Corvair 1964
This 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza keeps close to its factory features to deliver a true vintage experience. And with the full sea of blue inside and out, it creates an eye-catching classic that's offered for quite an obtainable price. The Corvair's styling was GM's take on a European car, and the paint wants to remind us of that. The car was born Daytona Blue, and that seems to be correct on the lower portion. But the addition of a light blue upper section delivers a sophisticated two-tone we'd usually see from Britain or Italy. This example also just looks quite nice because of its level of originality. All the details are correct from the thin bumpers, to the trim around the windows, to the lower rocker panels. Even the wire wheel covers retain their Chevrolet badging in the center.
The sea of blue continues on the inside. The bucket seat interior came standard in the Monza, and this is looking quite nice today. The ribbed pattern on the seats and matching door panels almost look more like this belongs in an Impala SS. And the dual cowl dash makes this Corvair look like a Corvette from the driver's seat. But while these remind you of the Corvair's bigger brothers, it also has a sense of style all its own, like the fingertip gear selector under the dash.
1964 is a sought-after year for the Corvair. This was the only year the first-generation body received the larger motor now displacing 164 cubic inches. This is believed to be in high-performance spec, and it's a pretty lively motor for this lightweight coupe. The rear axle was tamed thanks to the addition of a transverse leaf spring like the Corvette, and upgraded brakes were added this year too. We invite you to check out this setup in the undercarriage photos, because you'll also get to see how clean it is under this coupe.
This is a great driving classic with a cool sense of style. So at a price like this, you know the deal is irresistible. Call now!
