Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1949
For sale here is my 1949 Chevy 3600 flat stake bed pickup. Originally had dual rear wheels but is now 2 rear wheels. It has a 1957 "full oil pressure" engine instead of the original 216. I don't know if the current engine is from a truck or car. It also has an EATON "NO-SLIP" rear-end that is similar to "posi-traction. I call it a 3-speed transmission but it is a 4-speed with the first gear being the "granny gear" that would be used only in conditions (I guess) for a very steep incline. . So second gear is used for starting out. The trcuk has been converted to a 12 volt system. The truck is painted base-coat / clear-coat model year 2000 Dodge metallic Forest Green. There is ALL new glass all the way around. A total of 2 bed kits had to be used in order to replace the wood bed and has a high gloss finish. The front hood emblem is an original cast one (not the cheap stainless reproduction) that has been re-chromed and repainted. The lighting conditions inside of the storage place and my phone camera are not the greatest. So the truck looks a lot better outside in the natural light. The weather here is bad and I didn't want to take it outside for a photo shoot. Included in the sale is a matching pair of original 1949 Pennsylvania License Plates that are registered to the vehicle and can be transferred to the new owner if he or she resides in Pennsylvania. Also included is an original Pa inspection sticker affixed to the right lower corner of the windshield with another spare original sticker. A very rare license plate frame that was from a Brownsville Pa Chevy dealer that opened its doors in 1949 for only a few years and then was sold to another dealership. Also included is a very old AAA License plate topper that is porcelain and steel. There is also a grouping of paperwork that has an original "Bill of Sale" for a 1949 Chevy truck that is NOT from this vehicle. and an original 1949 manual and other materials. and maps dated 1949. My wife and I have driven this truck mostly close to home but it always starts right up and maintains a constant 180 degree engine water temperature. The attention that it gets is nothing short of amazing. People just either smile or give a "thumbs up" or just simply make a friendly comment wherever we have taken it. Open to all offers.
