Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1957
This factory 4-speed Fuelie belonged to my late uncle, and I am representing my Aunt in the sale of this vehicle.Only 664 4-speed Corvettes were built in 1957. This one was a June 1957 build.
Original Venetian Red with beige coves, Radio-delete.
Restored approximately 15 years ago by noted restorer/collector George Stauffer. Fuel Injection unit restored/rebuilt by Gail Parsons. My uncle purchased the car directly from Mr. Stauffer right after the restoration was completed. My uncle drove the car very sparingly, just for occasional exercise. Received NCRS "Top Flight" status in 2007, scoring 94.4. Many of the interior components are original, which provides evidence that this car has always been "nice" since the day it was born, and has benefited from conscientious ownership.
Stamping on fuel meter is 7014522 1869 . Stamping on air meter is 7014521 1713 . Codes on 4-speed are (passenger side) T10-7 WGDIV SPAC 4-18-5, (drivers side) E257-2 . Everything checks out 100%.
Car runs and drives wonderfully. Has been stored/maintained/serviced within my own 200+ vehicle collection (Google "The NPD Collection") for the last 5+ years, in air conditioning, on carpet. It is a "real car" and a good car in all respects. Hopefully the photos do a good job in illustrating the integrity of the car. In-person inspections of the vehicle are welcome, and we can put it up in the air for you to inspect as well.
Any serious prospects may feel free to call me (during business hours please) with any questions, Rick Schmidt (352) 427-1988. Please understand that while I am an avid and experienced collector and enthusiast, I am not a Corvette "expert".. And in the absence of my Uncle, I can only answer so-much. Also please understand that I am representing my Aunt, so any final decisions and finalization of sale will involve her, on terms that she is comfortable with.
