Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1971
Car was purchased new at Pensacola Auto Works. Pensacola Fl. It has always been garaged and pampered. A true survivor. numbers matching Corvette that retains its original. born-with 350 cubic inch. 330 horse power solid lifter engine. intake. Holley carb. Muncie M21 close ratio 4 speed transmission. and 3. 55. 1 rear-end. It has 100% original glass. mirrors. wheels. chrome covers. never used Firestone Wide Oval spare tire that still has tags. and correct instruments. Temp. gage is questionable. Will include correct replacement GM gage. and brand new sensor. Clock works. and keeps good time. Brand new and period correct Firestone Wide Ovals. just had original ralley wheels powder coated (silver out. black inside). look like new. In 1971 there were 1949 LT-1 Corvettes produced by GM. from the information I have approximately 10% were paint code 987. which is Ontario Orange. That would make this car 1 of approximately 227 produced like this. I have the original tank sticker. owners manual. The car is a true survivor. not perfect. but perfectly original. Several judges at the Frisco Tx October 23-25 '14 Regionals NCRS actually told me "not to change a thing" on this survivor. to just keep it as is. a statement that I totally agree with. If you are looking for an original car this is it. if you are looking for a perfect. restored. or trailer queen this is not the car for you. It is exceptional in every way. a car that can been be. and should be driven to be enjoyed. Production date: February 19. 1971 Engine pad: CI 110235 V0203 CGZ (Flint Feb 3rd 350/330hp 4sp)Engine block: 3970010 (Jan 28. 1971)Transmission: P1812A VIN 194371S110235Rear-end: AA W 040 E1 Original: Bumpers. body panels hood. fenders. doors etc (small rp driver side front fender well done). intake. heads. hoses. radiator cap. gas cap. exhaust manifolds. (new) correct exhaust system. chrome exhaust tips. starter. alternator. coil. radiator. A. I. R. pulley. nbsp;glass. wheels. lug nuts (yep they're GM #) shocks. seat belts. emblems. lights. One professionally done repaint. hard to tell. looks original! Just replaced the clutch. pressure plate. and throw-out bearing. was necessary to most as it was. but I like a responsive clutch. This solid lifters LT-1 Corvette (like my Chevelle LS6) was built to do one thing well. and that was Haul A__! And it does it very well! AC option was not available this year (or 1970). it was ordered without PS. or PB. Surprisingly it steers. and brakes very well. This is due to it being such lighter with the small block engine 4 speed package. Back in the day. the LT-1 was considered the "David" to the BB "Goliaths". "LT1 solid lifter 350 could easily slug it out with engines that displaced 100 more cubes. and did so with a vengeance. In corvette terms. the much lighter LT-1 offered customers better handling and similar acceleration in comparison to the nose-heavy big-block models. "This car is a blast to drive. thumbs-up where-ever you go! and very easy to maintain. Hate to sell this beauty. but my daughter just got married in April/graduated college (both very positive but ouch). son just started college. and I need to invest in new equipment at my business. Time for someone else to enjoy! I am a NCRS member.
