Featured on bring a trailer back in September of 2019, below is the write up on the truck done by them:
This 1973 Chevrolet C20 Cheyenne Super pickup is powered by 454ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission and has recently received a K30-style 4×4 conversion. The truck was reportedly sold new in Central California and was acquired by the seller in March 2019. A refurbishment begun by the previous owner and continued by the seller has included a repaint, new interior upholstery, mechanical and brake system refreshes, and the installation of K30 equipment and running gear. A Dana front axle and GM 14FF rear axle have been utilized along with suspension parts from Skyjacker and Rancho. This Chevrolet pickup is now offered with photographs from the refurbishment and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

A bare-metal repaint was commissioned by the previous owner. The process included the application of SPI epoxy primer, a PPG basecoat, and an SPI Universal high solids clearcoat. Factory trim pieces have been retained, and a vinyl wood grain wrap was added. New chrome Sport bumpers and side mirrors were installed with stainless steel hardware, and the sidemarker lenses, tail light lenses, cowl screen, and door strikers were replaced. A new windshield with embedded antenna was also installed with replacement window and cab seals, body snubbers, wedges, and cowl seal.

16″ steel wheels from a 1984 K30 model pickup were refinished in white and wear chrome hubcaps and BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tires. The brake system was refreshed with replacement front calipers, extended hoses, guide pins, and hardware, along with a new parking brake cable connector, rear wheel cylinders, hoses, and shoes. A new master cylinder and stainless steel brake line kit were also installed.

The bench seat was refurbished with new vinyl upholstery, and an ACC 80/20 loop carpet kit was fitted over FatMat Rattletrap sound deadener. An ACC vinyl headliner with ABS shell has also been fitted.

Additional interior items include an Avery-Dennison woodgrain appliqué on the dash and new gas, brake, and parking brake pedal pads. The air conditioning system was rebuilt with an ACDelco condenser, A6 steel compressor, and orifice tube as well as a Spectra Premium receiver dryer and R134a O-ring seal kit. The five-digit odometer indicates just over 84k miles, around 200 of which have been added by the seller.

Power comes from a 454ci V8 engine. Work by the previous owner included having the radiator boiled out and refinished in epoxy paint, along with the installation of new upper and lower radiator hoses and heater hoses. In addition, the following items were replaced:

  • Fuel tanks, straps, and sending units
  • Timing cover gasket
  • Silicone valve cover gaskets
  • Fuel pump gasket
  • Water pump gaskets
  • Spark plugs, wires, cap, points, and coil

After acquiring the truck the seller proceeded to complete a K30-style 4×4 conversion. A K30 frame, springs, crossmembers, axles, and transfer case shell were disassembled, sandblasted, and refinished with three coats of catalyzed epoxy, two coats of Tamco catalyzed urethane high-build primer, and three coats of Tamco Duraflint II Super Jet Black hard linear urethane. The steering gear and rear springs from a 1984 K30 pickup, and a TH400 automatic transmission and NP205 transfer case from a 1986 K30 pickup were also installed. Other components used in the project are shown on a list provided in the gallery.

The seller also fitted Skyjacker 2.5″ front lift springs and a Skyjacker Softride spring bushing kit, a Rancho K30 front steering stabilizer kit, Rancho K30 HD 4″ extended front shocks, Rancho K30 HD 2″ extended rear shocks, and Energy Suspension leaf spring and sway bar bushings.
