Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955
The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is already an icon, but this custom build is absolutely unforgettable. It's an amazing black and chrome presentation that has been given the kind of details and textures to make people really say "Wow!" And that's even before you've checked out the custom A/C interior, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and the performance-built stroker V8.This car is unmistakably a custom from the moment you first catch sight of it. After all, you could get black paint direct from Chevy in '55, but this one is so deeply sinister, you know it's a modern application. They took the time to get this bodywork correct before even the first drop of black was laid down. That means the kind of total presentation where the light evenly runs across the entire car. Even the edges of the bodywork were rolled during the restoration so that this one is even more impressive. All the brightwork looks like it has been expertly maintained to make sure that the bumpers shine like mirrors, and the iconic trim reminds us this is a jet-age classic. With the aggressive touches like the large dual exhaust tips, modern headlights, and large 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, everyone knows really they're in for something special.
A pillarless hardtop Bel Air is always the most desirable coupe, and it also means you get to roll down all the windows for people to get an excellent view of the interior. So you'll be glad they took the time to get this fresh and show-worthy. The idea inside was to keep it classic while subtly adding all the best upgrades. For example, you have two rows of classic-style bench seats. But the moment you feel the extra padding and supple leather, you know these are luxurious enough for all-day comfort. And there's even added detailing, like the classic white piping. The door panels, carpeting, and headliner all follow this blackout theme that's also fresh and comfortable. The dash gives you that iconic dual cowl design that reminds you of a first-gen Corvette. And now it also has nice upgrades like a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner that's hooked into a well-integrated custom sound system, and there's air conditioning that's blowing cold with modern R134a. The steering wheel has a classic look, but a sporty feel. It's mounted on an Ididit tilt column that gives you a clear view to the well-integrated upgraded gauges. So it really does incorporate the best of new in the interior's iconic style.
The black and chrome presentation continues under the hood, too. A small fortune was spent on shining components, just so they can radiate from within this dark engine bay. And while you like the style; you're going to love the substance. This is a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8. It's a balanced assembly that has been enhanced and fortified with Keith Black pistons (9.6:1 compression), AFR aluminum heads, an Edelbrock roller camshaft, Edelbrock hi-rise intake, and topped with a big Holley 850 CFM four-barrel carburetor. The Doug's long tube headers add even more power while giving a powerful growl to the dual exhaust. More than just pure power, it also has the right supporting components, including upgraded pulleys and a Ron Davis aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The 700R4 four-speed transmission is a stout enough unit that can handle the power and also deliver overdrive comfort. It feeds a strong Currie 9-inch rear. As you look at the undercarriage, you really see how fresh this build is, and also you'll spot upgrades like the sway bars front and rear. Add in power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes, and this is the classic that drives as good as it looks.
This custom classic is so nice that there's even a magazine story that comes with the sale. So if you love an award-worthy and powerful icon, call today!
