Description for Chevrolet C-10 1970
It's probably safe to think of this pretty 1970 Chevrolet C10 pickup as a Camaro with a really big trunk. LS1 V8 power, power steering and brakes, and an awesome color combination have erased its status as "just an old pickup" and elevated it to something that's a lot more fun to drive. The fact that it also looks great certainly doesn't hurt, either! It's easy to imagine this C10 Yellow and White Chevy pickup cruising down to the local feed store back in 1970, but today it's an entirely different story. This one puts in appearances at car shows and cruises the streets with the swagger of an apex predator, because it has the hardware to beat a lot of high-quality machinery. It's also very nicely restored, with attention-grabbing paint and bodywork that suggests either someone spent a ton of time and money on it or it never really did any hard labor in the first place, or maybe even a little of both. Whatever the case, it's seriously nice, with an impressive gloss on the paint that's a result of having been built to show off anytime it's out in the streets. It has some miles on it today, so it's not quite as perfect as it was when it was first finished, but there's no doubt that the workmanship was first rate and that this driver-grade pickup has had expert care since then. The chrome and wood-trim are still in place where the factory put them, and everything shiny has been buffed and polished up right. If not for the wheels and raked stance, you'd hardly know that this wasn't a fully restored stocker, which is just the way we like it.
The interior has been updated from stock, starting with a pair of low-back black bucket seats that look like they could have come from an early hotrodder, but offer the comfort of modern materials. There's a custom console between them, also wrapped in black, and the door panels are reproduction pieces that match quite nicely with stock 'Western Scroll' and wood grain accents. As with the body, there are some VERY minor signs of use, but for the most part this interior is expertly done and a wonderful combination of pickup truck and muscle. The gauges are upgrade Classic Instruments dials with a vintage look, and all the comfort items you'd want are included, from the later-model steering wheel to the B&M shifter to a retro-style AM/FM stereo with speakers integrated into the kick panels. If you can't get comfortable here, you're doing it wrong.
The engine is a '99-'00 Chevrolet 5.7L LS1 V8 augmented with 853 heads and providing huge power for this rather lightweight pickup. Looking like the factory built it, the engine bay is orderly with great service access and OEM levels of fit and finish; the only real giveaway is the twisty air intake (chocolate babka, anyone?) and conical K&N filter ad cold air system. There's a big Champion radiator up front with dual electric fans to keep it cool and because all the parts in the engine bay are relatively common at parts houses, online retailers, and Chevrolet dealers, it'll be easy to maintain in the future. It's backed by a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission from a later model Chevrolet that was neatly fitted and feeds what appears to be the original 12-bolt rear end. The chassis is very solid and almost presents like a stocker would look, but offers upgrades like upgraded shocks and coil springs, a newer gas tank, and a great-sounding dual exhaust system that makes it really sound like a muscle car. Those wheels are 18-inch pieces from Boss Motorsports carrying 255/45/18 front and 295/45/18 rear, respectively.
This is an amazing truck, as I'm sure you've gathered. Fast, comfortable, and still quite capable, it's vintage muscle that can do it all. Call today!
