Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1971
I love the look of this Chevelle. The clean white body with gray stripes that match the wheels is very unique. This is a southern car with exceptionally clean metal. Very snappy performance motor and a 5-speed trans, sounds like fun!EXTERIOR: It has a super clean, original body. It was built in Texas, I bought it in Tennessee. The quarter panels are original, bottom door seams are crisp. The body fits exceptionally well. It's smooth all along the bottoms. Nice clean look- no emblems or vinyl top. The bright white paint is polished out very smooth and glossy. Correct dimension, satin finish gray SS stripes match the wheels perfectly. Mostly new chrome. Upfront the bumper, marker lights and grill are excellent. The stainless trim around the glass looks new. Bow tie mirrors, door handles were replaced. In back the bumper looks new. The weather strips and window seals have been replaced. Door jambs are painted nicely. New windshield. Good looking custom wheels- 17s in front, 18s in back. Performance tires, wider in back.
INTERIOR: Inside the car is overall very nice. The seats have been reupholstered. Door panels front and back are new, also the armrests, window cranks and handles. The headliner and visors were replaced, dome light works. The dash pad does have one crack in it. It also has the round SS instruments and tachometer. The carpet was replaced and there's a 5-speed Hurst shifter down on the floor. It also has a cushion grip Grant GT steering wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very snappy performance built 350. Bored out to a 355, has performance cam, aluminum heads, aluminum intake with a dual feed Demon carb, an HEI ignition system and headers. Fuel pump and alternator were replaced. Dressed with tall aluminum valve covers. Features include power brakes and power steering. The steering box is a new Borgeson and a new rag joint coupler. The master cylinder and power booster have been replaced recently too. The firewall, inner fenders and bottom of the hood are a smooth semi gloss black. The fender jambs are painted a gloss white.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Bone dry original metal in the trunk. Even the inside of the quarters look spotless. I don't see any cuts, splices or patches. It is sprayed a white and gray spatter finish. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted gloss white, new weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: The bottom of this car has really clean metal. The floors are real nice and even the inner rockers and lower quarters right behind the tires are original and clean. The front end is not brand new but was rebuilt. Bottom of the motor has chrome oil pan- starter and fuel pump look recent. The trans was upgraded with a Borg Warner 5-speed. Original 10 bolt rear end. New shocks in back. It has a great sounding Flowmaster exhaust system. It has disc brakes in front, e-brake cables are hooked up.
A Chevelle with extra dry metal and a great look. A very potent motor and a 5-speed. This car will turn heads and snap necks!
