Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1986
Ready to hit the road, this 1986 Chevrolet K10 Silverado is a really nice 4x4 pickup. Nothing radical, just a well-executed suspension set-up, a smart-running small block V8, and a sharp two-tone paint job that sticks to the factory recipe. This is simply a lot of vintage truck for not a lot of money. You already know we love these trucks around our showroom and we probably sell more of them than just about anyone else. So, it makes sense that when a nice one shows up, everyone kind of takes notice. This black and burgundy K10 has that rugged, square-jawed look that makes these trucks the latest and greatest collector-value haulers. Repainted in the not too distant past, there are clear signs everywhere you look that someone put some serious love into the build of this truck. Is it perfect? No. Is it awesome? Yes. This truck has a killer look, and the overall, driver-quality presentation is just right - not so nice that you'll be afraid to hit the trails with it, but when you get home and hose it off, it'll look good enough to go out to dinner that night, or creep proudly through the local cruise night. The flashy trim between the two primary colors adds a much-needed dose of contrast that also makes the big 4x4 look racy, not bulky, and highlights the truck's no-nonsense profile. Chrome bumpers with big bumper guards up front, a diamond-plate step bumper in the rear, and oversized mirrors make it practical as well as attractive and you can tell just by looking in the bed that this truck has probably never had to work for a living.
The burgundy interior is typical GM no-nonsense, with a wide bench seat, a handsome wrap-around dash, and plenty of creature comforts. That's a factory seat cover in a nice-looking cloth fabric, and it appears that the door panels and perhaps even the carpets are nicely preserved originals as well. The gauges are also original and monitor all the engine's vitals, all surrounded by a nice-looking brushed stainless dashboard. A factory steering wheel has a butch truck-like look that suits this big 4x4, and it's mounted atop a tilt column for added room for the driver. Options include factory A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt column, and a newer AM/FM/CD stereo system from Kenwood. Heavy-duty floor mats are a welcome site if you plan on heading into the dirt and with a sliding rear window, it's comfortable inside without the A/C running on all but the hottest days.
For power, this Chevy relies on a tried-and-true 305 cubic inch V8. It's fairly stock, so reliability is not compromised and it still starts, idles, and drives like the factory intended. The engine bay is incredibly solid and original, suggesting that this truck has never really ventured too far off road, and thanks to a factory towing package, it's already equipped with a big radiator and other heavy-duty equipment. The suspension underneath is all heavy-duty springs - no blocks or other halfway solutions - and it sits high enough to climb over boulders without hurting anything vital underneath. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, so it's actually reasonable on the highway, and the two-speed transfer case and heavy-duty axles make it invincible in the slippery stuff. Long-tube headers and a custom Flowmaster dual exhaust system probably add a few horsepower and give it an awesome V8 soundtrack, and those flashy Rally wheels with giant 32x11.50-15 Cooper all-terrain radials look exactly right.
Nothing radical here, just a nicely finished truck with some smart, well-executed upgrades. If your tastes run more towards playing in the dirt, then this Chevy deserves a closer look. Call today!
