Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1967
Here is a very well taken care of 1967 Chevelle Malibu 4 speed with 89,125 miles. It has Grenada Gold paint with a black vinyl top. The original options on the car are the vinyl top, power steering, power disk brakes, tinted glass, tilt steering wheel, blinker tach and rally wheels with redline tires. As to my knowledge, this Chevelle has been stored indoors throughout its life.
The car was purchased in 2010 with 80,216miles. The previous owner had the car repainted in the early 1980's using the factory Grenada Gold color with lacquer paint. Currently the paint is in fair condition with some "lacquer checking". The pictures will show that but can only be seen in close view. There is also a spot of what appears to be rust on the passenger side rocker panel. This is shown in the attached photos. The door jams and inner trunk lid have the original paint, which is still in good condition. The vinyl top is original and in very good condition. The body panels are also original to the car and in very good condition. The wheels are original, and the tires only have about 5,000miles on them. The chrome wheel moldings, mirrors and the Malibu emblems have all been replaced. All other exterior chrome is original to the car and is in great shape. The floor and trunk pans are solid, and the entire underside has been under body coated.
The interior of the car is original with the exception of the carpet which was replaced in the early 1990's. Water temp and oil pressure gauges were recently added to the lower dashboard. There are no rips or tears on the black vinyl seats or interior. There are some minor scratches from wear, but overall, the interior is in excellent shape. The radio has been converted to play AM/FM channels by the previous owner.
The original 327 engine was replaced in May2019. It was replaced with a Blue Print 350 crate engine. Most engine components were also replaced during this time. A new Edelbrock Vortec Performer manifold was purchased in 2019 with the engine. Even newer items (June 2020) include a Petronix Pro Billet Flame Thrower ignition/distributor, MSD Blaster Coil, AC Delco Platinum spark plugs, 3/8copper gas line, Edelbrock 600CFM carburetor and Performer High Volume 115GPHfuel pump. The engine really runs and sounds good. It's not tooquiet and not too loud. It's just right. The car was manufactured with an automatic transmission but was replaced with a correct 1967 4 speed transmission by the previous owner. The car also has the 3.08 factory rear end. The new engine and components have less than 1,000 miles on them. The front suspension components and brakes were replaced and the transmission and clutch were rebuilt shortly before the purchase in 2010.
Overall, this is an exceptional car that is 53years old. There are a few cosmetic flaws that can be fixed, but overall, the car is solid and sound. As previously mentioned, it runs and sounds excellent. It's a great car that has shown well in the past and could show well in the future.
