Description for Chevrolet El Camino 1976
This car was a father & son project, but unfortunately, I lost my son to cancer and no longer have the mental capacity or desire to finish it. It has a clean title and has approximately 63,500 titled miles. The car ran and everything worked when we pulled it into the garage 3 years ago, but the battery is long dead and I haven’t tried to restart it. We pulled the dashboard out to redo it, but never got to it, so there are a lot of dangling wires. The dash has the round gauges and all of the gauges are new along with new circuit board. The original fake wood has been replaced with carbon fiber. Car has the rare, high back, swivel bucket seats and center console. All of the original chrome and stainless items that were on the car are included. Bumpers have been removed and are in good condition. We were going to eliminate the government mandated crash extensions and make them flush. Engine is V code 350 CI 2 barrel. Brakes are disk fronts and drum rears. Tires are good and has the very cool Rallye wheels. The rear end has been lifted 1 ½ inches to give it a bit of an aggressive stance. Car had at least 3 coats of paint on it, and most of the body has been stripped down to bare steel and primered. Only the driver side rear quarter panel remains undone. We cut an opening in the hood and installed a Ford Mustang hood scoop that is really functional, and it makes that big hood look really impressive! The frame is solid and has been sanded and painted. This will be a real eye catcher for someone who wants to finish it. I always loved this big body style. I’ll also include the new stereo that we were going to install in it. Obviously, the car is being sold as-is, and will need to be trailered. I’m happy to assist.
