Description for Chevrolet Impala 1963
Cash Sale only and In-person only, no Trades, for this 1963 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport 2 Door Hardtop. It is a real Super Sport, as the Trim code on Cowl Tag is 812 Black Vinyl Bucket Seats and Option Code G Console. These are some of the codes that signify a 1963 Impala SS. It runs well, drives and stops. Built in Chevrolet Missouri factory but spent most time in Texas. The car has a 1970 Corvette 350 engine that has about 20k miles since it was rebuilt. Carburetor is a 4-barrel Holley and it's on an Aluminum Intake. The car has Dual Exhaust all the way to the back, with Headers and Cherry-Bomb Glass-packs, nice tone, not loud. Station wagon springs are in the rear. The Brakes were done by the previous owner. I stripped the car to bare metal and put in red primer, original color was Tuxedo Black code 900. No rust holes in rear quarters, no patch panels on them, no skins; factory spatter paint still on the inside of them. There are some shallow creases behind the rear tires down low, and on right side, a slight amount of filler needed. Each panel has a couple of very small dents, a little dolly work or a minimum amount of filler required. I saw a little filler on door skins and a bit by front and back emblems, but that's about it, this car is not a bondo-box. I have a picture of the right quarter when in bare metal so you can see how solid this body is, just message me and I'll forward it to you. I had all the window trim off and there were no rust holes underneath. All 6 Floor Pansand all 6 Floor Braces are original and look good from underneath. I welded a 6" metal piece topside on the left front pan, towards the inside; can't be seen when peeking under. The Doors are solid underneath. Under the hood's front lip and inside trunk lid lip has a bit of rust that I was going to fix. The Inner and Outer Rocker panels are solid. The Rear Wheelhouses are solid too and the panels on the inside of the lower rear quarters, called the "Drop-offs" are original and solid, with the factory undercoating still on them. The Body Mount Boxes by the rear tires were replaced by the previous owner, the welds look strong. I put in a new trunk belly-pan, needs finish welding. The Fenders were repaired at the bottom by the previous owner, some finishing required. The car has an aftermarket AC unit under the dash, I don't have the compressor. The Headliner was replaced and has no holes. The front seats do have a rip each and car could use a carpet. The windshield has a crack, but I have a good used one that will go with the sale. No cracks in the rest of the glass. The trans pan gasket will need replacing, has a slow leak. I haven't driven the car on the street, only around the driveway, I have a Transferrable Registration from the previous owner; in NY this is the Ownership Document for cars older than 1973. The spot on the back with Buyer's name is blank, so this is considered Clear Title. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end ad at any time. Bidders with less than 10 feedback will need to call & talk to me first, otherwise your bids will be deleted. No Trades, Cash Sale Only, in-person only, no exceptions. 845-496-4175 leave message
