Description for Chevrolet Corvair 1969

Well last week we had a red convertible we sold on Ebay. Really nice car. but if you really want a rare car. I have one of those for sale too. 1969 Corvair for sale to the lucky bidder. We purchased this car in 2006. It was sold new and spent it time in West. Idaho. The woman who first purchased this car traded her 1960 Corvair for it. She went to the dealership and they said they were no longer made but that they had one left over. It was in the back of the lot at the Chevy dealership. and she bought it. She passed on and her son kept the car in his large garage next to his Collector cars. He drove it every once in a while. But kept it in memory of her. He finally decided to sell and we bought it. She was an odd bird. painted white with green cloth interior. A cheep 500 with 110 HP motor. automatic transmission. radio and of all things deluxe seat belts for 6 and shoulder belts. The son said they they have never been out of the ceiling holders. The car is a 1969 500 with 12. 99 original miles on it. When we purchased it. the odometer read 10. 54. These are original miles. I know because I took the car apart and painted it black. I really liked the car. but putting. miles on it. I hated to do it because it was such a low mileage car. Here are the things that have been done to it. Striped to bare metal and painted. base coat/clear coat. in Tuxedo Black. The rear end is painted 1966 Corvette silver poly bc/cc/ Prettier color than argent silver. Added roof drip rail chrome. rocker. wheel well and rear end (cove molding) trim. The interior is all original. Now you can argue all you want that is not original because of the cloth seats. The son explained to me that he nor his mother ever changed a thing in the interior. He says that is the way it was since brand new. The vin number on this car is #5649 of 6000. The seats could be from a Nova but not sure. I'm not an expert on Nova's. I added courtesy lights. trunk and engine lights. The car won 1st place 69 closed at the 2009 Jacksonville. Fl Corsa Convention. Official concourse judges. The car scored a 94. 89 which was GOLD. Most points were taken off the underside because it was left original. Since then it has been painted. All plaques and judging papers come with the car along with the original Title from Idaho. The spare tire is the original trunk spare tire. No rust now or ever. Car had at least a dozen dents from the inside-out. Due to poor workmanship. Body now straight as an arrow. Replaced original front windshield because of clouding in bottom. Corners. Trunk has been splatter painted and clear coated with same clear coat as rest of car. Engine compartment was completed the same way. Most engine parts have been painted and clear coated. Brake fluid has been changed to silicone fluid. The steering wheel has been been changed to Monza and base coat / clear coat. The wheels have been changed to real knock off wire wheels with spinners. Spokes are green and chrome. Two green for every 1 chrome wires. So the green would show up better. Single exhaust has been changed to dual. With tail pipes exiting rear engine air outlet grill. The metal work on the exhaust was done by my dear friend “Ed Lange” who a lot of Corvair owners knew. who is now watching this sale from heaven above. I think I replaced the real wheel cylinders and rubber hose when I did the front ones. But with so many collector cars. I just can't remember for sure. Car is a pleasure to drive. It drives like no other Corvair I've owned. It's like rolling back the clock to 1968 and driving my 1965 4 door 140. Think I'll miss this one the most. If you buy this car. you won't be sorry. But if you don't you'll never know what you missed out on. The only reason we are selling our Corvairs and various other cars we have restored is we have decided it's time to do what we have planned on doing our whole married life and didn't think that would happen. Well it's time. Time to hit the road in an rv and live in it full time. So everything is going. as you may have seen all the parts we have been selling so keep track of our auctions. We still have a lot more parts. Will work with buyer in delivery and keep in contact on the progress of all aspects of the deal. Read Feedback from the coupe we sold last week.
