Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1953
Here's a GREAT find. Elderly owner has had it stored for decades. now just lost the energy to finish. This car is super straight. restoration has been well started. She was made in the Los Angeles. California plant. The body has been blasted and stripped. primed and then re primed. Some of the Chrome has been replated. the stainless is very nice with only a few with very minor flaws. A lot of the stainless has been polished. The seat frames have been sand blasted. primed and then covered with new foam and a vintage NOS set of 1950's seat covers. you can see some of the original upholstery on the inner rear quarter panels. The top pump and lines are all intact. the wiring is all intact. The dash. firewall and door jambs have been painted the correct Sungold paint. The trim is hung loosely to be removed for final paint. There is a nice set of wide whitewall tires mounted to the stack. and sungold painted. original rims. sporting very nice and correct 1953 hubcaps. There is a new shaded windshield installed with new rubber. The glass is all original and without cracks except for the passenger wing window. They roll up and down. The engine is purported to have been rebuilt. I have included a photo of the valve train which seems to support this. there is no sludge or carbon on the clean head. The carburetor has been rebuilt and the motor turns over with the starter. The oil has been changed and I did try briefly to hotwire it . got a few pops. It does have compression so I believe. with a little work. it can be running. The last time it was licensed was 1977. The trunk is full of windshield trim. door panel trim. sun visors and many other parts. like wiper bezels. Take a good look at the photos and feel free to call me with any questions. This car has never been advertised anywhere before now. This is a unique opportunity to own the '53 you have always wanted. call Jay 360-852-0589I will gladly assist and foreign buyers with shipping to Los Angeles or any other port of choice. I'm 100% with Ebay since 1999. bid with confidence.
