1976 CHEVROLET CAPRICE CLASSIC LANDAU "GLASSHOUSE"Auction only 10 days!! Get in before time runs out and the car becomes famous. DETAILS Car was purchased December 2013 in order to be built to feature in Disney's latest film 'McFarland USA' in cinemas now. The car was written in to the film script to appear in the style you see in the photographs. The car was entirely built at Ghostlight Industries. San Fernando. Well known in the vehicle building and restoration circles. Specialising in building vehicles for film. The car was disassembled and stripped back to bare metal for primer. paint and rust proofing. (build pictures available on request). 1976 Chevrolet metallic mahogany color paint. pinstriping and mural painted. multiple wet sands and re-cleared many times for a very deep and high gloss finish. Hood mural is of the famous Mexican actress Martha Higareda who's stars in the film. Mural by renowned airbrush artist Alberto Herrera. Landau vinyl roof was removed. new metallic flake roof painted. pinstriped and cleared. (pinstriping cannot be felt under the many layers of clear)New brakes front and rear. New 350 engine block. recent camshaft. valve lifters. timing chain. oil pan seal. all gaskets replaced. Recent rebuilt 4BBl Carburetor New FBSS air suspension system professionally installed. New windshield and trim around rear quarter windowsBumpers re-chromed. rubbers reconditioned and white line paintedNew Gas tank. sender and hoses. New exhaust. nbsp;flow-master muffler and new catalytic convertor. Passes emissions test easily. Wheels - 5 x 14" TruRay wheels. (4 plus spare) Original 60 spoke hubs reconditioned and re-chromed. 14x7 in front and 14x6 in rear. Tires - 5. 20 Premium Sportway with skinny whitewall. Brand new original style wheels. whitewall tires and original hubcaps also included. Spare / additional hood included. Painted and pinstriped to match the existing hood but without the mural. Additional hood has a timber brace frame fixed to rear to enable easy moving and storage. Interior - original black velour upholstery. normal wear but cleans up really well. Only one little tear in side of drivers seat. hardly noticeable. Carpet and mats as new condition. new dash pad to match upholstery. Custom California Car Company premium all weather cover. 8" chain steering wheel (original steering wheel included) the power steering is so good you can use this wheel with one finger. Stereo system - Top of the range quality'Alpine' CDE - HD149BT CD head unit with bluetooth 'Focal' PS 165 6-1/2" 320w 2 way performance component speakers and custom pods in door. nbsp;'Focal' 690 - 6x9 - 320w speakers hidden in rear parcel tray with Dynomat lining under. 'Kenwood' XR900 5 channel amplifier under seat. System so good it needs no extra bass. Alarm system - 'Clifford' 3102X Matrix alarm with tilt sensor. glass smash sensor. hood and trunk sensors and central locking. Recently removed air conditioning compressor and hoses from engine bay because I never use it and was about to tidy up engine area. All components are in a box and very easy to re install if required. Things that don't work. - Speedo stopped during last engine work a month ago. Have not checked. but cable may need re connection. - Passenger window switch. Either needs reconnection by removing door panel or contacts need cleaning. Window is still operable by drivers side switches. - Everything else works and works well as far as I know. Car has the odd small chip in the paint. usually on an edge. there is a small can of car paint that I use for touchups. Starts. runs and drives beautifully. Very responsive and smooth. A lot of work has been put in to making the car as reliable and comfortable as possible.
