Offered in trim levels ranging from stripped economy champ to luxury pavement pounder. Chevrolet produced Chevelles capable of satisfying the needs of nearly every buyer and every wallet. That legacy of universal appeal has continued across the last forty years. giving fans and aficionados the parts and inspiration to create their own unique hot rods. Take this '71 Super Sport for example. Decked in classic Tuxedo Black and Antique White paint. updated with modern chassis components and hooked to a 496 cubic inch BluePrint big block. this tastefully modified Chevy turns a traditionally appealing platform into an off-the-charts super star. If you're ready to hit the streets in a head-turning muscle car that's built to take on anything. have a closer look at this stunning Chevelle!BODYWORK/TRIMWhen this A-body left GM's Baltimore. Maryland assembly plant in March of 1971. it looked much different than it does today. For starters. the car was covered in a glowing coat of Antique Green single-stage. A run-of-the-mill small block lived between its factory-prepped wheel wells. And code 731 Antique Dark Jade Elk fabric coated its standard bench interior. Yes. to make a long story short. it was an era-specific grocery getter that lacked the aesthetic longevity to drop jaws and turn heads. To remedy that. the original paint was stripped and replaced by a slick coat of Tuxedo Black 2-stage. Antique White Super Sport stripes literally put the icing of the cake. Those feeble drivetrain and interior components were traded in for modern performance and traditional bucket seats. And today. fresh out of a 2-year. body-off restoration. this top dog Chevy sits as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards. Many enthusiasts view early '70s Chevelles as the pinnacle of both muscle car and classic Chevy design. At the front of this black barnburner. a familiar crossbar grille hangs a fresh and prominent "SS" emblem between a small "CHEVELLE" script. stainless-trimmed headlights and a fresh chrome bumper. Opposite that bumper. a pinned cowl induction hood anchors rebuilt hide-a-way wipers at the base of tinted glass that's framed in pristine stainless and new drip rails. At the base of those rails. new red and white inlayed "SS454" badges combine with straight wheel trim. chrome door handles and a painted mirror to add visual detail to the car's liquid-smooth profile. And at the back of that profile. a second chrome bumper hangs a bold "SS" emblem between clear brake lights. a fresh "Chevelle by Chevrolet" trunk script and spotless chrome exhaust tips. ENGINEGaze into the car's Satin Black engine bay and you'll find 454 cubic inches of BluePrint big block that's been stroked to 496 cubic inches of Chevrolet fury! Currently maxing out at 618 dyno-proven horsepower. that freshly built hunk of iron is a pump gas torque monster that's just as comfortable cruising country roads as it is lining up at stoplights. At the top of the sinister mill. a big Holley 4-barrel mixes wind supplied by a K&N X-Stream-style air filter with fuel that's piped through a chrome regulator. a tightly braided hose. a small Summit gauge and a polished stainless line. That air/fuel mixture floods a serious aluminum intake on the way to BluePrint aluminum heads. which hang fabricated valve covers between traditional roller lifters. a proven roller cam and a perfectly matched breather. At the back of that cam. what appears to be an MSD Pro-Billet distributor sequences spark through loomed MSD plug wires. Below those wires. ceramic-coated Hedman Hedders funnel spent gases in to a large-diameter. true-dual exhaust system. At the front of those headers. billet pulleys spin a polished alternator opposite a modern AC compressor. In front of those pulleys. a fresh aluminum radiator circulates coolant around two electric puller fans via pliable GM hoses. And. even though the engine's whopping 592 lb. /ft. of torque makes it a purpose-built speed demon. it's still very impressive to look at. DRVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONBeneath this Chevy. a clean undercarriage tells the story of roughly 10 test miles. Rock-solid floorpans are coated in smooth Satin Black paint. setting the perfect backdrop for a roster of high quality parts. Behind the immaculate big block. a proven Tremec TKO600 5-speed spins a familiar 12-bolt rear end around correct 3. 31 gears. That excellent drivetrain is framed by a mostly stock suspension that's been upgraded with AC Delco shocks. aftermarket control arms and modern lowering springs. When the road starts to twist. power-assisted steering maximizes the driver's input. Braking is handled by four discs and red. power-assisted calipers. Spent gases race from the aforementioned headers in to an X-shaped crossover and rowdy Pypes Street Pro mufflers. Power flows to the pavement through polished Ridler 645s. which turn 225/45ZR18 Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs in front of 275/35ZR20 Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs. And detail items include a deep-sump oil pan. stainless fluid lines. a Holley fuel pump. a Fram fuel filter and a stainless fuel tank. INTERIORWith a host of fresh interior components. this coupe's crisp. black cockpit is both inviting and unique. Its slick seat combo. which features TMI bucket covers. is firm to the touch and shows no signs of wear at all. In front of those seats. a straight and crack-free dash hangs white-face gauges. Vintage Air climate control and a direct-fit RetroSound stereo behind a correct Super Sport instrument panel. Below that dash. a stainless-trimmed console anchors a traditional Hurst shifter above clean black carpet and color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet. pick-free door panels center spotless stainless trim and requisite "SS" emblems on bright chrome handles and pliable black armrests. In front of the driver. an "SS" branded steering wheel laps stainless-trimmed foot pedals. And behind the passengers. a fully restored trunk features matching carpet and vinyl. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONA stack of restoration receiptsPaperwork and manuals for the car's various componentsAn official BluePrint Engines dyno sheetWith its incredible motor. lust-worthy body and fully sorted chassis. this Chevelle is the very definition of muscle car.
