Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1984
This is a gorgeous looking C4 Corvette that is mechanically solid at a rock-bottom price. This car is gorgeous; both the interior and exterior are head turners. See the pictures to judge for yourself. Except for some ordinary wear and tear. this car is mechanically solid; the engine on this bad boy roars. In other words. the car starts right up without any problems and I’ve had fun driving it. The air conditioner works great. and the electric windows and seats also function great. the headlights work great. Most things with this car work great. This car is not perfect and does need some TLC to address some things (described below) to get it into great condition. but for the price. it would be hard to find better value for your money. In other words. most C4 Corvettes are in need of mechanical maintenance and upkeep like this one. while few C4 Corvettes look as great as this one. I got this car at an auction a few weeks ago. as part of a deal with a dealer and I am looking to sell. Before me. I’m told that the car only had one owner. who babied this car. Check the auto-check vin history report on this car: auto check typically gives cars similar to this a score between 24-50 and it gives this car a 68. The exterior of this car looks great. There are no dents or dings and no major chipping. See the pictures to judge for yourself. I’ve driven this car around town and twice someone next to me signaled for me to roll down my window and told me how nice my car looked. Similarly. the interior is in great condition. By the looks of it. I’d say the interior was redone a few years ago. as the interior looks really great. except for a few very minor blemishes here and there. It’s hard to find a car this old with an interior this nice. See the pictures to judge for yourself. It would costs thousands of dollars to get the interior of another C4 to look like this. Basically. everyone who’s seen this car has been gushing about how great the interior and the exterior look. In other words. this car is a real head turner. that you’ll love showing to family and friends. I drive an 1987 C4 that I like a lot. but the car that you’re looking at here has an even better appearance than my car that I drive regularly. I am jealous of this car and would be keeping it for myself and selling my 1987 C4. if I had already not put money into my 1987 C4. Mechanically. the car is solid. but. as with most cars this age. there are a few things that need to be attended to. When C4s sell “as is” they usually include issues like the ones I’m describing here. So be on notice that the car is not perfect and does need some things. I had a mechanic look the car over thoroughly and he gave me a good report on the car’s strengths and weaknesses. On the one hand. the car fires right up. runs and sounds good. and gets good gas mileage. There is no check engine light on and no other warning lights. On the other hand. this car needs some TLC. The car needs a hood lift. which is missing. The car needs new tires. The parking brake has only been working intermittently. and needs repair. The dash cluster lights are not great. are dim and it is hard to read the speedometer. So. the dash cluster lights will need to be repaired soon (I had this done on my 1987 and it was relatively inexpensive). There is a slight oil leak from engine seal and valve cover gasket. The mechanic who saw this said that the leak is not serious and the car can be driven for years with this leak. but this mild leak is there. and they buyer may want to fix soon. I bet some oil leak formula would do the trick. There is also a rattle coming internally from the catalytic converter. The converter is working fine for now. but may need maintenance later. The catalytic converter is a relatively inexpensive thing to fix. and as of now the rattle is just mildly annoying. The dash cluster and parking break issues are very common for C4 corvettes and are issues I faced with my 1987 C4. Basically. based on my experience with my 1987 C4 and what the mechanic who looked at this C4 told me. these types of issues are going to come up with any C4. or any 30 year old car. So. basically. what you’re paying for here is that its rare to find a C4 that looks this nice on the interior and exterior. while most C4 have relatively minor mechanical issues like this. You’re going to find relatively minor issues like this with almost any 1980s C4. but you’re not likely to find a 1980s C4 that looks this good. NADA car values has the average retail price of this car at $9. 50. So the starting price here is very fair. I’m just getting started selling on ebay so I have little or no feedback. so if you want to call me to talk about the car. and verify that you can buy with confidence. you can call me on my cell at (773) 580-3463. You can call with any questions you might have and I can send you more pictures if needed.
