Description for Chevrolet Impala 1961
Up for auction is a 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop sport coupe. I started a frame off restoration approximately two years ago. Unfortunately the project has yet to be completed. The car started out as a very solid and complete Los Angeles built car. The car was completely dismantled. The frame was powder coated. The body was taken down to bare metal. refinished and repainted with a multi-stage base coat clear coat. All suspension work was powder coated. The frame and suspension were reassembled and mounted back on the body. Most of the body stainless is back on the car. The car is slightly further along then what is shown in the photos. The motor and transmission were professionally rebuilt and replaced in the vehicle. The wheels were powder painted. Original bias ply style tires mounted. Polished caps installed. Fresh chrome bumpers installed. All front grill and rear bezels were re-anodized and mounted. The car is now rolling and ready for final assembly. The unfortunate side to this whole story is. this was my dream car. I trusted a builder in the Los Angeles area to build the car. Unfortunately he skipped town before the car could be finished. I was lucky to get the car back. It has been a pretty emotional situation and I have lost motivation to finish it. The car was complete when the restoration began. The car needs the side and front glass. interior. a few misc. stainless pieces and wiring. There is a 60% chance all missing parts will go with the car. As it currently stands. all parts are being stored in the building where the car was being restored. The landlord has agreed to release the parts after he has resolved the issue with the tenant. I have also hired my own attorney to retain all missing parts. I have listed the car at NO RESERVE. which is far less then what I have invested in the car. I also feel the price is fair considering the amount of work that has gone into the car. This car is being sold "as is. where is. " There are no warranties expressed or implied. It is the buyers responsibility to ask all questions and/or inspect the car for themselves prior to bidding. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of auction. The balance is due no less then four business days from the close of auction. The vehicle will not be released until all funds have cleared. Please do not bid unless you have the funds available. Remember. you are not bidding to inspect. you are bidding to own. The car will be sold with a clear California title in the current owner's name. Buyer is responsible for shipping related costs. THIS AUCTION WILL END ON SUNDAY. DECEMBER 7. nbsp;2014 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:15 PM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME. I reserve the right to end the listing early. I have omitted the last two digits of the VIN just for the security of the vehicle. Title matches the VIN. PLEASE VIEW MY OTHER AUCTIONS. You can call 714-234-6095 with specific questions.
