Description for Chevrolet Impala 1966
One will be hard pressed to find another example of a 1966 Chevrolet Impala "Survivor"Factory A/C 327/275 in this untouched solid condition. nothing is hidden! This car was part of an Estate in Phoenix Arizona in which the Original Owner had two cars!! One a 1970 Chevelle Malibu 350 and the other a 1966 Impala 327. In order to get the Chevelle we had to buy both as a package deal! As much as Id like to. We just cannot afford to keep the 66. We drained the fuel. iled the cylinders re-lubed and she popped right over! Even the A/C compressor kicked on! Such a solid original survivor for resto-mod. custom or can be brought to the next level. truly a rare find!! Please study all of the pictures carefully as they truly represent a very nice example of a nearly 100% rust-free soon to be a fifty year old Chevy. This Impala has 100% original paint showing patina. blemishes and chips over the years. The only small areas of rust are inactive and confined to both front fenders and are not brought on by salt or other corrosive properties. in Phoenix if the car is parked under a tree(in the city) it will accumulate leaves and dirt that get trapped in the fenders from being washed in by wind/rain and washing. it has no place to go except condense and create a little rot in these areas mostly on GMs. certainly an easy patch and not all the way under each either. The paint has some normal chips over the years but remarkably still shines!! Yes we did clean the car up but not excessively. Chrome on this car is unbelievable with a few scratches but no pits inside and out . The interior appears original with a few rips and wear spots. very believable for a 92K car! The dash is sun baked and will need a new cover. The trunk and door seals will need to be replaced as they are original. The trunk is 100% solid as shown in the pics(more available) top and bottom(w/o gas tank)underside 100% rust free. trunk floor surface rust only(moisture trapped under mat as usual) All original jacking accessories included and spare rim/tire is dry rotted because it sat so long flat. All tires are in new cond. but as usual old/ from sitting. Underside of this car is unbelievably preserved and some original black paint and markings still exist. however it still seems to be home to some spiders while it sat in the garage. The car runs and drives with all the lights and equipment working but we had not made it highway ready( mainly tires and going through all fluid changes ). Car does not leak oil or tranny fluid at this time! I suppose if one really wanted to. they could drive it but I would strongly recommend new tires. (Note); Last three Pics show brand new Torq Thrusts and 275/60 Rear. 225 front that I bought for Chevelle. Brand new! The Impala will not come with them. however can be had for an addl. $1. 00 if really wanted. they fit tight and perfect!! The original owners manual will be included as well as an Atlas tire reciept from 1969 with the same address as current own owner title as had to be re-issued recently and estate occurred at. roving one owner! Please study all the pics. ask questions and call me to establish rapport. I can aid w/ transport but you are fully responsible for the cost. This car is probably one of the best original Impala 327/275 fact. A/C cars out there. and why worry about rust repair whether you want an original survivor or base car for resto-mod/street rod or low rider? The lucky buyer will not be disappointed! Again. bid with confidence and serious only. please no dreamers . cammers. low-ballers. bid to win. low reserve!! Call 623-249 0968 (AZ)On Apr-09-15 at 17:37:52 PDT. seller added the following information:I want to make a few things clear. 0 mile Cooper GT 60s/ A. M. Torq Thrusts DO NOT come with the car. and can be bought installed/balanced on the car for addl. 1800. orig. rims/tires. aps will be included in trunk. back seat! Also. Iam very honest and critical . his is a very solid car. however not 100% gone through(as stated) Please read . I have not driven this car anymore than around the block a few times. It runs a little rough at idle. but does smooths out a higher rpms. Carb. has been rebuilt (it was varnished almost inop. ) I had pulled the plugs. cleaned and re-gapped them but they are old. also plug wires should be replaced and/or perhaps other minor tune up duties. It starts. runs. drives. shifts and has new brakes. bushings. shocks. bearings. but still sat for many years. The mileage said 92947(when I bought it)the next oil change was due at 95947 . the oil is clean and the odometer works so this car was set up to drive and just sat in the garage. What Im trying to say is that you need to take it to the next level. Iam out of money to do so and the next owner will have to do just that; A very nice low mile. solid "garage find" but needless to say it cannot be driven across the country guys!! I had 2 guys that called 2 and figured they would! I would have the car transported and then go through it 100% We got the car running. that all we did. so please consider this before bidding. Thx.
