Description for Chevrolet Corvair 1963
OK Kids I am relisting it after a Dickweed who drinks too much won the auction and then did not follow through. Beware of ebayer who goes by Frankbonnema from Oregon. Don't be a Dickweed! Offering a running. driving project 1963 Corvair Forward Control van. AKA Corvair 95. This crusty critter is a blast. It was sold new in Louisville and that is where I found it. I bought it last fall in non-running condition and spent a small fortune getting it drivable. Since bringing it home. I have done the following: Upgraded the carbs with freshly rebuilt late model carbs. Fresh. clean rust-free Arizona gas tank. straps. new sending unit and all the fuel lines Converted to an internally regulated 61 amp alternator instead of the original generator. Now you have real spark and consistent charging. I removed all the engine shrouds and cleaned out everything that was around the cylinders I sandblasted and painted all the shrouds and acid dipped the air cleaner assembly Installed new air cleaner elements New spark plugs Electric fuel pump New brake master cylinder New push rod seals and valve cover gaskets Adjusted all the valves Installed new fan belt Fresh oil change and filter Repaired all the lights so now you have working headlights. tail lights and turn signals. Rebuilt the starter. everything new NOS gas pedal New headlight switch Reworked shifter mechanism Installed new heavy duty 2 gauge fine wire battery cables Greased the chassis Adjusted the brakes Installed new wheels and tires Now the van is in drivable condition. It has a good clutch and good brakes. It goes down the road straight and has working wipers and working gas gauge. It has the fun. famous Mystery Shifter three speed transmission. No broken glass but windshield has wiper marks that may or may not polish out. I would not plan on driving this home unless you live close or like to live on the edge. It is running and driving. but still needs a few short trips to confirm reliablity. Look over the pictures and let me know if you have any questions. It has a lot of character and will make you the hit of the local car show. It gets more attention than a shiny new Prius. Buy this and shag out the interior or just chain up your dog inside. I was planning to make it into a guerrilla food truck and paint some fake restaurant name on it and park it a Food Truck Friday here in town. I was thinking it would be the perfect place to sell Deep Fried Cigarettes or even Deep Fried dog turds wrapped in bacon. This is Indiana. Hoosiers will eat or smoke anything if it's deep fried and wrapped in bacon. You can't beat bacon. I just picked up another project so this one needs to go to someone who has a good sense of humor and appreciates it. plus I could use the money to bust my grandpa out of jail. They picked him up again for "assault with dead weapon". Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Your wife will love it! OR just park it in front of your house to piss off the neighbors. Van is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. My phone number is 317-796-8197 if you have any questions. Mike
