Description for Chevrolet Nova 1962
This auction is for a 1962 Chevy Nova 2 door convertible. Vehicle needs to be restored. The interior does not look terrible however it is dry rotted and will need to be replaced. I pulled the carpet out to check out floor pans and found drivers floor pan will require replacement. Right front floor pan is adequate however it is sufficiently rusted. No holes. Rear passenger left and right floor pans seem okay however there is extensive surface rust. Right rear floor pan has a very small hole indicating floor plans are thin. I have stood in all floor pans and they appear to be solid enough. Cross members under the floor are in good shape. Both rocker panels are solid. Trunk center floor pan will require replacement. A pillars are solid. Left quarter panel is solid and requires repair not replacement. Same with the right quarter panel. I have not tried to start the car however engine turns over by hand. I believe vehicle would run with a little effort. Car was originally ember red. Brakes would need inspecting. The tires need replacing. Exhaust appears to be in good condition. I believe the drivetrain to be original but can not be verified. Engine has codes stamped in it (TI004HF) however I could find no vin. Vins were required in 1968. Engine information code is in line with the build factory and dates. Both the body and engine have a build week of November. 4th week. 1962. This car has a Z in line four verifying it is a SS edition. Convertible cloth top will require replacement but the top frame opens and closes with ease and will require no repair. maybe a little paint. According to the vin starting with a 3 this vehicle is considered a 1963 by Chevrolet however the title states 1962. Vehicle is being sold as a 1962. A lot of work. but a cool car. Feel free to ask questions or request any special photos. Thanks
