Description for Chevrolet Impala 1973
Car is amazingly solid for its age. runs and drives great. Dual exhaust with loud "cherry bomb style" mufflers. sounds awesome. Plenty of power with 4-barrel carb. shift kit on transmission. shifts smooth if you go easy on the accelerator or will chirp tires at shift on hard acceleration. Has a Pertronix electronic high energy ignition. no longer any need to change points. newer plug wires. bosch platinum plugs. and blue streak distributor cap. Replaced the cork valve cover gaskets that were leaking with rubber gaskets. The vinyl seats do not have any tears or splits. The car body. frame. and bumpers are solid. The paint is original and flaking on the top. and the chrome is flaking on the bumpers. The passenger side outer tailight lens is missing (stolen) and it is taped up to keep water out of the bulb and wiring. Has front and back floor mats. the carpet has wear. The dash is cracked as these typically do. Sears diehard gold battery and K&N air filter. The original steel wheels are in the trunk with slashed tires (victim of neighborhood tire slasher). The wheels/tires on the car are as follows: front two wheels are steel 73 Impala full size spares (good tread but old tires). the back is also steel wheels with Sears snow tires. also good tread but old. The four original hubcaps are on the car. The original bumper jack is present and in good condition. The inside of the trunk looks brand new! Some extras that go with the car are four spare hubcaps (3 - 73 Impala and 1 - 74 Impala). and an extra bumper jack. A great car for the Impala enthusiast to drive as is or if you want to restore you could not ask for a better starting point. The mileage of 53. 42 is the actual mileage. A true survivor of its era!On Apr-22-15 at 15:39:55 PDT. seller added the following information:Some additional information and pictures based on questions. As noted above. the paint is original and is checking and flaking. worse on the top surfaces of the car. roof. hood. and trunk. but the car needs painted. A close-up picture of the top was added. Underneath the frame is solid but also has surface rust as shown in an added picture. The exhaust is newer but it is not stainless and also has some surface rust as shown in the added photos. The rust spots on the body are light surface rust except for two spots in front of and behind the rear wheel on the drivers side only. pictures of this were added also.
