There's the original window sticker. uild sheet. pre-delivery check-list. owner's manual. warranty booklet. and dealership certification paperwork. CD describing new vehicle features. spare key in original packet with factory blanks and tag. The all-new Camaro was selected to pace the 1993 Indianapolis 500. becoming the first car in history to be selected for that honour four times. To commemorate the event. Chevrolet built ONLY 645. This particular '93 Camaro Pace Car has just 502 miles from new. and is perfectly preserved in every way imaginable. Fully documented. this is an investment-grade vehicle from an amazing collection of low-mileage Indy pace cars and is possibly the nicest example in the world. Chevrolet has always gone all-out on their pace cars. Unlike some manufacturers who merely slap on a set of decals and call it done. the Camaro features a two-tone paint scheme designed by Corvette Hall of Fame member Randy Wittine. ho also designed most of the Corvette Pace Car Works of Art. With flowing graphics that look like unravelling tape. the car looks like it is constantly in motion. Of course. it also features the customary Indy 500 Official Pace Car decals on the doors. as well as Indianapolis Motor Speedway insignias on the front fenders. This car was purchased to become part of my collection. and as such has never been driven any significant distance and has never seen rain. Every component and finish is exactly as it was when Chevrolet delivered this Camaro to the dealership in 1993. In fact. thanks to careful care and a lifetime of careful polishing and waxing. it may even look better than it did rolling off the assembly line. This is a seriously nice car. The Camaro Pace Car interior was unique. and featured multi-coloured fabric on the seats and a fade-away pattern on the door panels. tying in beautifully with the exterior paint artwork. In this car. you'll simply have to take my word for it that the seats are immaculate-they have been wrapped in plastic since they were new and are perfectly preserved. The dashboard has fully functional gauges that use bright yellow graphics and pointers. similar to the Camaro Z/28 . This car is loaded with options. including A/C. cruise control. power windows. nbsp;power-locks. power driver's seat. a leather steering wheel. a Delco-Bose entertainment system. and removable glass T-tops. You'll also notice that it features a 4-speed automatic transmission. which is how the actual pace car at the Indy 500 was equipped. This is a very fast car that needed no mechanical upgrades to effortlessly pace the Indy 500 with theLT1 under the hood borrowed directly from the Corvette. The engine bay is a restorer's road map to show you exactly how these cars were assembled and marked. and every component is as new. With the exception of the battery. every component is the exact one that was installed on the assembly line 22 years ago. including spark plugs and wires. The chassis is equally spotless. with all factory markings and tags fully intact. There are no Camaro Pace Cars more authentic than this one. The wheels are Z28 16-inch alloys that were painted by the factory in Arctic White to match the lower half of the body. and it still wears its original Goodyear GS-C tires. Heck. they may even still have vintage 1993 air in them! I drive all my cars from time to time to keep everything operating smoothly so mileage may be a tad higher.
