1968 camero What I have up for auction is my 1968 camero. It is a very solid car that has been in storage for 30+ years and this is probably the first time it's been available for sale to the public and is probably a one owner car but I can't prove that. Now the car only has just shy of 72. 00 miles and I 'm thinking those were pretty easy miles because it only is a six cylinder car with a two speed auto (on the column) and a open rear end so it was not built to be a race car just a little cruiser and there is no evidence of it ever being mistreated but just the opposite it appears to have been cared for rather well. The interior is in really nice condition as far as the seats. door panels. sail panels. kick panels. side panels. dash pad. it's all nice but it needs carpet and a head liner at a cost of $225. 00 here on ebay. I am assuming they took the carpet out when it was stored but I don't know why the headliner is missing. but replace those two items and the interior would be very nice almost like new. As for the mechanicals the brakes have gotten new hardware and the hard lines have been replaced front to back and although it has drum brakes all around it stops pretty well. It has had the gas tank removed and cleaned and reinstalled with brand new gas tank straps and all the rubber fuel lines have been replaced plus a new fuel filter and it has new tires all the way around and both end links in the front end are new as well. the six cylinder motor fires right up and the tranny shifts as smooth as you could ask for. This car has many more years left in it without having to do anything but basic maintenance just get in and go. The condition of the body and under body is very good but it has a few early signs of rust as you can see in the pictures and the driver's side rear quarter was replaced probably in the late seventy's or early eighties but that was probably due to a dent rather than rust but the passenger side front wheel well and battery tray were replaced due to rust from battery acid and that is the only sheet metal that doesn't look original. The original windshield has a crack in it but all other glass is there and in good shape. The pictures of the underbody show surface rust but there is one actual small rust hole on the passenger side front floor board (see pic) and that is the only rust thru on the whole underbody. So if you have been looking for a 68 camero to build up or build stock this is the car for you. Good luck and bid to win you won't be sorry.
