Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955
No Reserve Auction. Rare Texas Barn Find 1955 Handy Man Wagon 2 Door. This 55 Wagon was sitting in a Texas Garage for many years and it was finally sold to a friend of mine. I bought the car with the intention of building it into a full custom Resto Mod but I've got too many customer projects and have decided to move this one on. The main reason I bought this car is because of how solid it is. it will need a professional restoration and is in need of what I would estimate to be 35-45 hours of rust repair if we did that here in my shop. We build high end classic muscle cars so I can accurately and honestly describe the amount of work that needs to be done. The car will need 3 floor pan patches. it will NOT need a full floor replacement. The passenger side quarter panel has been replaced many years ago and appears to be done correctly with a GM part. The right side rocker panel under the door will need to be replaced. it has been hit at some point and is pushed in a little. The left headlight eyebrow needs a patch. the rear of the car is very solid especially in the spare tire area where most of them rust. There will need to be a small area patched on the flat part of the rear floor area. easy patch. There are a couple of other small areas like one quarter panel behind the door needs a small patch and a couple other spots that can easily be handled. This could all be done at home by a semi skilled welder/fabricator or any good shop could knock it out and have the car gapped and rust repaired in a couple of weeks. This was a complete car when my friend disassembled it and I'd estimate 90% of the original trim pieces/glass/moldings are there and in Restorable condition. The front bumper will need to be replaced but is there. the rear one can probably be saved. I have most of the glass including new door and wind wing glass. one of the curved pieces of glass is in bad shape and needs replaced but the other is ok. I'm describing this car as honestly as possible but you are always welcome to come see it in person or have it inspected. You are also welcome to call me at the shop 972-496-3278 to discuss payment or offers. the car is for sale locally for 7500 but this is a no reserve auction. The car was a straight 6 automatic car and there is no drivetrain. It is rolling on the stock suspension and brakes. all of which will need to be rebuilt. The seats are original for the rear one. but the front one is out of a 57 Chevy Belair car. everything I've read shows that it will fit in the stock location. The seats alone would bring 1500 dollars due to how rare they are. This car needs one of everything to make a clean showcar. but due to their finished values which can fetch 100K plus for a well built resto mod. this is a sound investment. The car has been professionally blasted on the chassis and sprayed with Epoxy primer. this eliminates the guess work for you because you know exactly what you will have in the paint and body work. it is a very straight car for the most part and will not be too hard to get ready for paint once the patch work is complete. If you'd like a quote on having us build the car for you I'd be glad to discuss that too. We are Grubbs Motorsports from Garland. Tx. look us up and you'll see what we build. This car has a clean blue Texas title. it is a bonded title which means it is from the VIN number and is a good clear title that will transfer to any state. Good luck and No Reserve.
