Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1972
You are bidding on a VERY NICE SHOW WINNING 1972 Chevy Malibu 350!! This car has ONLY 53k ORIGINAL MILES!!! This BEAUTIFUL example of Classic American Muscle has had only one repaint in 1972 Corvette Green over its VIRGIN STEEL body!! Until this past winter there has never been a single spot of rust on this car EVER!!! All fenders. doors quarters. floor pans trunk pans etc… are 100% original to this car and have never been repaired or filled. You can run a magnet over every centimeter of this car and you won’t find a stitch of bondo!!! It is as it came out of the factory. The two recent rust spots that are pictured are at the bottom right corner of the rear glass and the lower left corner of the trunk lid. These are the only spots of rust on the car. There is one place on the drivers “c” pillar where the factory lead that was used to fill the seam at the roof has begun to split and shrink and that too can be seen in the pictures. The car underwent a TWO YEAR thorough Frame-On restoration from bumper to bumper beginning in 2002. All of the trim on this car is straight and bright. All gaskets and seals were replaced. The interior originally came with a bench seat and column auto shift. It was converted to buckets and console and was completely custom re-upholstered with very high grade material in the two tone dark green and khaki scheme as seen in the pictures. This same high grade material was also used for the headliner. Custom gauges were added to the console to monitor the engine as well as a tach was added to the dash just to the right of the speedometer. A custom vintage looking AM/FM/Cassette radio with 100 watt amp was installed in the factory location with two 6x9 tri-axle speakers in the rear deck and two small 3 inch voice speakers in the dash. The dash board. dash top and instrument cluster are all original. Everything inside this car LOOKS and WORKS as NEW!! All of the glass in this car is original and is as clear as the day it rolled out of the showroom. This car originally came with a 350 2bbl engine and a Turbo-350 Automatic Transmission. When bought it was a running and driving car but the engine lacked the performance that was desired so that engine was removed and a brand new GM crate 350 engine was installed in its place. This is a GM race ready crate engine with 4-bolt mains. forges steel crank. forges steel rods. Hyperutetic flat top pistons with valve reliefs. Dart Pro 1 63cc chamber aluminum heads with 202/168 valves with 200cc intake ports. Compression ratio is 10. 3:1. Valves are controlled by a comp cams hydraulic lifter camshaft with 1. 6 roller rockers with rocker stud girdles. This engine is fed by a Holley DOMINATOR carburetor that sits on an Edelbrock Super Victor Intake Manifold. The exhaust is handled through a set of stainless steel 1 5/8 inch tube headers into 3 inch collectors and out through a mandrel bent Pypes exhaust system with an “X” pipe. THIS ENGINE PRODUCES OVER 500hp!!! That power is transferred through the original Turbo-350 transmission that has been completely rebuilt with upgraded clutches to handle the horsepower and a B&M shift kit to a completely rebuilt original 10 bolt posi rear with all new carrier components. 3. 73:1 ratio gears. All new u-joints and all new axle bearings and seals were also installed. The chassis and suspension were completely rebuilt with all new components. This includes all new springs. steering components. bushings. front and rear. ball joints. swaybars. front and rear. all new drum brakes with all new hardware and components at all four wheels. No bolt was left un-turned in this restoration/modification. All chrome on this car is original except for the Rallye Wheel trim. There is also a full set of brand new wheel well opening trim that will go with the car. The running original numbers matching engine and the original bench seat with the original material will also go with the car if desired by the buyer. This Outstanding example of TRUE AMERICAN MUSCLE has won a wall full of trophies over the last 12 years including several BEST OF SHOWS!!! This is one of the CLEANEST UNMOLESTED Malibu’s you will ever find. It starts right up cold or hot. and drives like a dream. But don’t let that docile look. sound and feel fool you. because when you slam that accelerator to the floor it becomes a very different BEAST!!! In the blink of an eye it will take you from Sunday driving to A Day at the Races and back again and all in comfort. luxury and style. DON’T MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE TO OWN ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC MUSCLECARS OF THE 70’S!!! To find one of these cars that still retains all of its original steel and has never been in an accident and only has 53K miles on it is almost unheard of!!!
