Description for Chevrolet Other 1959
For sale is a: RARE 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3100 3/4 Ton V8 PANEL DELIVERY TRUCKNO RESERVE! 4 Speed Stick (with Granny gear). 305 Small Block. 16-17 mpg city (est. ) 6 Lug Short wheel base ''Shorty''I bought this panel truck about ten years ago in Simi Valley. ca. I just needed a strong truck to keep my equipment and me dry on work sites. Since then- Brand new radiator. new fuel pump. new starter. new master cylinder. all new USA made drums and parts. new cross member. new battery. fixed Driver's side kick panel vent (working). Condition: Nice patina. good floors. original wood has normal wear and tear from age. front floor on driver's side has the worst rust-needs repair (see pics). Old bondo repairs have been done here and there. but need to be redone as shown. Normal but minimal rust all around (again. see the pictures). rear barn doors. Unknown noise when driving (light metal clacking noise). doesn't seem to effect road worthiness. Might be from the drive train or the U-Joint is going out. not certain. One headlight not working. brights work- added blinker arm (original taken off by previous owner). added Cone blinker lights on rear. No reverse lights and no hazard lights. Interior light works. Windshield wipers disconnected. All glass is original. still useable but old with scratches/chips. passenger window is cracked. but is functional. Glove box is present. Loose wire on battery needs minor repair. Engine has a slight leak in the valve cover. or possibly the oil pan. Engine runs very good & strong. aside from the minor leaks. Top speed not over 70-75 MPH because of original gear box/rear end. Needs new tires (left rear has slow leak). Mileage unknown- MAYBE 20K 30K Max- I was told the engine was freshly installed when I bought it and it looked like it. nside is very clean and still running great! Speedometer has been disconnected. The cable or cluster panel went out (started squeaking and stopped on its own). Headlights and interior lights are on toggle switches. Seats only have two bolts (not bolted all the way down). Roof has not been drilled or cut. ome old repairs above rain gutters. Straight rain gutters. Tight steering. I've driven this truck maybe 1 thousand miles a year or so to job sites. mining at Lytle Creek. Beach and etc. Other than the starter going out and a couple flats it has never failed me. People have said it might have been a Helms Bakery Truck because of the yellow w/red logo paint and their red logo might still be under the primer but I do not know whats under thereGreat drive and restore truck. VERY Rare and hard to find original collectible. especially in its condition. Previously a mechanic told me that very few of these exact types were made- Chevy was changing over their body style and tooling dies that year. This was the last year of this type of rounded body style. She needs a good transmission and rear end to open her up and get her moving FASTA true Endless Summer vehicleNO WARRANTY: as-is. where is. I do not know everything. and I am NOT a mechanic. I have been honest and represented this vehicle to the best of my ability. I will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have. Moving out of state next year and am forced to sell. Upon winning bid/auction close. we will require. as a courtesy. a $500. 00 deposit within 48 hours. Full payment will be required within 72 hours.
