Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969
DescriptionReal Deal Camaro RS/SS Z10. big block. Pace car CoupeYou are looking at a 1969 RS/SS Camaro Z10. the current owner has owned the car for 5 years. it was taken to some local car shows early on and sat for about 4 years. The brakes were soft. the fuel was old. the hoses and belts were weak etc. The car was recently taken to ACE Automotive and had $3. 00plus in work done. New front brake calipers. new battery. new hoses and belts. new water pump. the fuel system was drained and the carb rebuilt. The current owner installed flow master exhaust to give it the muscle car sound. The current owner does have the factory transmission and it will go with the car. The current turbo 400 has a shift kit. it will chirp the tires in second gear. The car runs and drives good. except for the poly glass tires. they are rough. they are nos tires that are weather cracked. The tires complete the look. however to drive the car any distance a fresh set of radials would be a good plan. The a/c was upgraded to R34 and blows cold. The paint looks real good except for the right rear quarter panel it has some spider cracking. This is a true Z-10 RS/SS 396 Camaro. auto A/C. 12 bolt rear. turbo 400 automatic. Look at the pictures and watch the video. call us with any questions. Mr Felty passed away in 2006 and he was a very well known First Generation Camaro Collector with a huge inventory of First Generation NOS Camaro Parts. which I purchased also. The car has been registered with the International Camaro Club Inc. by the previous owners. I was told by the vice president Donna Crispino. I have her phone # if the serious bidders needs it. After setting and speaking with Mr Felty’s son for many hours. he tells me he worked side by side with his dad all of his life and he was with his dad when he purchased the car in South Carolina several years ago. The son remembers bringing the car home and his dad telling him to pull all the emblems. wheel well moldings. rocker panel moldings. drip rails. window felts. center caps. trim rings and etc. out of inventory of NOS parts and installing on the car. The car has been kept in storage ever since all that stuff was installed and still looks new. The interior in this car is the best I have ever seen in a 69 Camaro. I mean it is nearly perfect. I think this car has had one repaint with the correct lacquer paint and done very very nicely many years ago. Now showing a few spider cracks. but is still very nice. I have done a very close inspection on the car and I find that there has never been any rust repair and the body is as nice as any car I have ever seen. with all of what I believe to be it’s original panels. The only panel that I have in question is the deck lid. not sure if it’s NOS or just a nice used one. The trunk still has the factory splatter paint. but does show some over spray from the repaint. The car runs. drives and rides as good as new. Everything on the car works. even the key buzzer. horn and etc. AC kicks in good. might need a little freon. but blows cool. What I see missing is the smog system. The transmission was removed from the car due to a leak in 1997 by Mr Felty and replaced with another Turbo 400. while the other one was rebuilt and was never put back in. but comes with the car. and here are the #’s from the correct transmission Date Code 477 CE-69-15028 which is 396 350 hp only. Now here’s what I have found out about the car from previous owners. It came from Warren. Ark. to Rockhill. SC in 1990. and it sold for $17. 00. 00 the mileage was 80. 41 stated actual miles. Then in 1996 it came from SC to KY and that is where I purchased the car from the Ronald Felty Estate. I have a copy of the Bill of Sale to show all that with the names and phone #’s of all three previous owners. I was told it is a numbers matching car. but I’m not sure of that. the car is 40 years old and I have no way of knowing that. I only know what I’ve been told by previous owners. You be your own judge. bidders are more than welcome to come and do their own inspection. Here is the #’s. Block casting # 3955272. Front Engine Pad T0428JI Rear-end BL0424G2 Transmission Date Code 477 CE-69-15028 350 HP only. We all know I have a very collectable piece of history. that is getting very hard to find especially in this condition. I’ve been told that there’s only one other 396 350 hp known of and it is in Indiana. I welcome all inspection. and I will keep the car stored in climate control for a reasonable amount of time. until you can arrange for pickup. I feel that the winning bidder of this car will be very happy. because there is plenty rebuilt cars being sold every day not a lot of these rust free original panel cars left. ” We will have more information real soon including the engine and trim tag numbers. This is a survivor that was in a collection. It was purchased by an individual that restored the belts. brakes. hoses. carb. fuel pump etc. to make it run and drive. Although they frequently are identified as “pace car coupes. rdquo; the 1969 Camaro Z10s are not merely hardtop versions of the popular Indy pace car replicas. The truth is. they’re even more rare (between 400 and 500 were built). and were built for a very limited region in the southwest US (although one was sold new in Tennessee). They did. of course. receive the same Dover White paint job featuring Hugger Orange stripes. and even the SS396 cars like this one we’re featuring here. used a matching white tail panel in place of the big block’s usual blacked-out piece. With a high quality restoration and a cowl tag that has never been removed. this is a real-deal Z10 car. and as rare as these Camaros are. you’re not likely to see another one any time soon. All Z10 coupes were painted code 50 Dover White with Hugger Orange stripes with matching white rocker panels. They also all came standard with the D80 spoilers. ZJ7 rally wheels. ZL2 cowl induction hood. Z22 Rally Sport package. and Z27 Super Sport package. They were all built in Norwood. and all of them received the Z10 stamp on their cowl tags. making them some of the easiest Camaros to document. The Z10s received all the usual Camaro trim. including chrome bumpers and Camaro script on the nose. fenders. and deck lid. as well as engine-identification badges on the front fenders. All Z10s were also RS/SS cars. so this one carries a correct SS grille with hidden RS headlights. the special white rocker panels. and even the Hugger Orange pin stripes that delineate both front and fender lines. a detail that many restorations leave out. And while there seems to be some vague connection between the Z10 cars and the Indy pace car replicas. the Z10s never carried the pace car door decals. The stainless on this car has been straightened and polished. and it carries the optional gill inserts ahead of the rear wheels. Tail lights are correct for the Z10 big block SS cars. and as I mentioned. even this 396-powered coupe carries a white tail panel.
