Description for Chevrolet C-10 1966
1966 C-10 Long Bed Show Truck/Hot Rod. This truck went through a complete frame off restoration in late 2012. It has been garaged every day since and never been in the rain since restoration. Truck has been driven approximately 800 to 900 miles since engine and vehicle restoration. I take this truck to several local car shows each year and win most of the time in the truck or best in show categories. This truck is just that nice! Please do not ask me “how does the Rockers Look” or “is there any rust in the truck” or is the floor pans solid and rust free” This truck was taken down to all good sheet metal and if there was rot, rust, or anything, it was replaced. Hood is original, doors original, both front fenders replaced, bed sides original, tail gate replaced, inner fenders original, all glass replaced, bumpers replaced, cab original, wood in bed replaced, gas tank replaced, rear end original, engine replaced, transmission replaced, all chrome replaced, grill replaced, head light housing replaced, radiator original, original dash, and gauges. That should cover 95% of items it takes to restore one of these. Zero bondo, zero. This truck has well over $30, 00.00 invested.
Engine: a 350 bored 30 over, with vortec heads, headers, dual exhaust, Holly 4-barrel carb, power steering, power disc brakes. The engine was professionally built local by Carolina engineering and was built and added parts to get her to just over 400 HP and 485 FPT. It is a beast of an engine with more power that anyone would need to scorch the tires and it has a real nice cam so it sounds awesome running or at idle. This truck turns heads no matter the circumstance. It has the original 411 gear read end (this was a farm truck back in the day that we pulled the 3-speed on the column and 6-cylinder engine). It was hunter Green and I have many before and after pics if the successful buyer would like them, as well as, many restoration pictures. The transmission is a Muncie M-20 4-speed (came out of a Corvette) that complements the low gear read-end very well and does not tach out at 60 MPH now like the SAG that I replaced. The Muncie is in great working condition and shifts great. Still has the six-lug pattern and ridding on 275/50/R15’s Fire Hawk Indy 500 white letter tires. Again, tires are almost new with roughly 800 to 900 miles driven on them. Truck stops very well and with power front disc brakes.
Truck drives straight and you can steer it and drive it with one finger. No pulling and crabbing at all. Tracks and rides good. Interior: you can see the original bench seat was recovered in black and white “hounds tooth” cloth and no issues with comfort, etc. Gas tank is new but still behind the seat. Did not want to change too much of how this truck would have been originally other than drive train and paint color. Truck is painted in “Huggar Orange” with Antique White Accents and Top. This is a true Custom Cab but obviously all chrome was replaced with new. I am 4th owner of this locally purchased C-10. I polished and left the original dealer metal decal (Burwell Chevrolet, Spartanburg, SC) as this truck was purchased locally, remained local to this day. This truck looks better in person. Orange vehicles do not photograph as well as black, white, and other colors. I assure you, the body lines, gaps, and paint is outstanding and near perfect. I used my iPhone to take the pics in the middle of the day so they just don’t take as well as taking them with a better camera from the inside of a warehouse like most places do. Price is $25, 00.00 and well worth the money. Truck can be seen (serious buyers only) by appointment only. Truck is located in Western NC (50 miles from Asheville and 70 miles from Charlotte). My Cell phone is (828) 755-4642. No Pay Pal, just a certified cashier’s check from your bank for payment. I have seen the many scans with selling on-line so want-to-be scammers, beware. I will not ship, send you Jack (money) to sell my truck. Please don’t try me. Best of luck! Mark
