Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969

FIRST, LET ME APOLOGIZE FOR THE BOOK I'M ABOUT TO WRITE.....1969 CAMARO, RS/SS, BUTTERNUT YELLOW WITH BLACK VINYL TOP, BLACK STANDARD INTERIOR, 350 4 SPEED, 12 BOLT POSI REAR, X11 CODEDI purchased this car from the original owner in New Jersey with the intention of restoring it to new condition. For that reason I bought almost everything new to rebuild it. The car was last licensed in 1973 in New York state, and I have the registration from the prior owner. It now has a clear Ontario Canada ownership. When I bought it a few years back, it was pretty well picked over, but retained enough pieces to identify it and verify that it was indeed what the owner said it was, an RS/SS - the black vinyl was still on it, the RS washer pump, multi leaf springs, back up lamps, etc. That being said, I cannot prove it was the real deal. The car was in pretty rough shape, but I had a California shell that was relatively solid, so I essentially made one out of two......this is legal in Canada, and the car is now a legitimate Ontario car. I want to make that perfectly clear as I understand US rules vary from state to state, but the car can now be exported to the US as a complete automobile. The car has the correct hidden vin at the heater box for the RS/SS car. I soda blasted the entire shell, replaced the roof panel, the rear tail panel, the upper cowl panel, and a small piece of the driver side toe board. The shell has been epoxy primered but requires finish body work. The quarter panels were original, and I didn't want to replace them with cheap tin, but they were dented and were only roughly dollied out, they will require the attention of a good body man to smooth them, or you may want to replace them, up to you. The car is currently mounted on a body shop cart that will be included with the car. The cowl tag shows the X11 code, which supports the SS part, but doesn't prove it. It also shows it as being built first week of June, 1969, Butternut Yellow exterior (less than 1% of '69's were Butternut before they switched to the more common Daytona Yellow, which makes this one a little more rare), black standard interior, and black vinyl top. I have a correct dated 350 block, casting 3970010 4 bolt mains, but I have not located dated cylinder heads as of yet. I have a correct dated Muncie four speed, correct dated intake manifold, correct dated alternator, correct dated distributor (also correct numbers for the 350 300HP SS option), and a 12 bolt posi rear with multi leaf springs still attached. The Muncie also includes bell housing, flywheel, clutch, correct shifter, driveshaft and crossmember. I have sand blasted and powdercoated the California front subframe, as well as the lower control arms. I have aftermarket cowl hood, front fenders, header panel, lower valance. I have an NOS windshield cowl panel, NOS Rally grille and moulding, NOS rear trunk spoiler, good used RS inner fenders already refinished in correct 30% black. I have a complete new interior, but I opted for the black houndstooth and deluxe door panels rather than the standard listed on the cowl tag. Interior includes new tilt steering column, new RS steering wheel, new console, new carpet, new door panels, new package tray, new headliner, new kick panels, new pillar moldings, new dash pad, good reconditioned instrument panel carrier, new tachometer, new grab handles. I do NOT have a speedometer, console gauges, and part of the rosewood dash trim. The seats have already been recovered in new black houndstooth, and have new tracks and seat backs. I have complete new factory correct wire harnesses including fuse block. I have good used tinted side glass, but do NOT have a windshield or a back glass. I have a complete new RS headlamp system (proper vacuum style), good used RS tail lamp buckets, new RS tail lamps, new RS back up lamps, good used front bumper, new rear bumper, new antenna, new side louver trim, new wheel opening moldings, new rocker spears, new mirrors, new door handles (inside and out), new locks, new body mounts, good used steering box, original steering linkage, coil springs, etc. I have new p/b cables, new shocks, new stainless brake lines, used brake booster and master cylinder, original front drum brakes from a 6 cyl car, this will need a disc setup. I have about $4k more in small parts, all new and all the stuff that will nickel and dime you to death when you're putting the car back together! I have restoration manuals, templates to locate antenna, back up lamps, side louvers, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things as I've been collecting parts for about 7 years now.Almost forgot, I have a set of 14" Rally wheels with centers and rings, and I also have a set of American Racing Stics 5 in a 15x8, they look like Torque ThrustsYou will need to purchase: cylinder heads, carb, exhaust, windshield, back glass, front disc brakes, tires, seat belts, console gauges, speedometer, vinyl top, and a few other small items. I'm guessing another $4-5 k in parts......I have had the car listed locally and will continue to do so. I've had several question the value of what I have, so I'll explain to avoid questions........A Dynacorn body would run you $15000 US shipped to your door. You would then still have to buy a subframe, interior, drivetrain, front sheet metal, wiring, bumpers, suspension, and so on and so on........you would then need to obtain a title, and would still have a fake car when you're finished. I've got over $26000 Canadian into this car so far, and yes, I realize I'll never get that all back, but I intended to build it for myself and wanted it all new, so price was not my objective at the time. I have recently become single and won't be able to finish the car any time soon, so I would rather see someone else finish it than stare at it in my garage for another 5 years before I can get back to it. That being said, I'm willing to take a considerable loss, but I'm also not going to give it away, I can store it and finish it later if necessary.I require a $2000 non refundable deposit if you are the winning bidder. If you have any questions on something I haven't covered, please feel free to ask.I would also consider a trade for a turn key car.......Camaro, Firebird, Trans Am, Charger, Super Bee, Mustang, Grand National, Chevelle, or other such vehicles, but again, they MUST be turn key - if I wanted a project I'd finish mine!
