Description for Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 1971
Sadly it has come to the point that I have to pass my pride and joy on to someone else to appreciate and enjoy. Now available is a 1971 Chevrolet C/K2500 Custom 4X4 pickup truck. This truck was a complete full “off body” restoration that took place back in 2000. I brought it to Idaho from Arizona in 2004 where it has resided ever since. I never used it as a daily driver but did enjoy taking drives with it in the summer. Otherwise it had a dedicated space in the garage. Chevrolet builds some of the best trucks on the planet and this stylish part of the Marque’s long running C/K Series is truly in a class by itself. The beneficiary of this frame-off restoration and piece of Americana enjoys a stout 454 ci engine with a 4 speed 700 R4 tranny for a solid drivetrain. Other experiences are neck breaking curb appeal from enough cherry red chic to convert fans anywhere. If you are ready to experience a truck that puts the “T” in TOUGH take a long look at this super cool Chevy. As far as styling goes few vehicles have aged better than late ‘60s and early ‘70s Chevrolets. In fact toeing the line between rock-solid and refined the Action Line C/K is probably one of the most attractive trucks ever built and making the best of that model’s presentation this Cheyenne flashes enough cherry red exterior and chrome highlights on a straight body justifying the significant amount of money spent to achieve that “wow” look. The seamed body’s small amount of metal work is from the outside of the panels completely undetectable and best of all those panels remain just as GM designed them with nothing shaved filled or altered in any major way. Rust has never even looked in this trucks direction. The body on this truck is super solid with excellent rust free fit and finish. The paint is excellent for the age and shows just slight signs of being a normally driven vehicle. All trim was replaced during restoration and the exterior still turns heads as you drive by. The interior was replaced with new door panels headliner weather stripping and a beautiful restored dash with all new gauges (including factory tachometer) and chrome hardware. The truck also features factory air conditioning tilt wheel and an updated AM-FM AUX Clarion Stereo with high output booster. As mentioned before the truck is powered by a custom built 454 big block that has been completely rebuilt from a 1971 corvette 427 ci motor and matched to 454 ci specifications. Edelbrock manifold and carburetor along with MSD ignition add to Performance AND Economy as priority. The transmission is a 700 R4 automatic with overdrive (again for economy) a GM 14 bolt heavy duty rear axle with a P 205 transfer case to marry everything together. Other factory power equipment includes power steering by Specialty Performance Inc. and a serpentine system also done by Specialty Performance. All this sits a top of a 4” suspension lifted frame by Skyjacker and front disc brakes. Included also are custom Bucket Seats from a 2000 Chevy truck. The original gas tank was removed to accommodate the seat and eliminate gas fumes that were typical with the in-cab tank. A new 40 gallon combination tank / tool box upgrade has put the easy access tank undetectable to thieves. The air-conditioning system was incorporated into the “factory” system by Too Cool Inc. and works as expected as does the heater. Wired in is a Tekonsha Brake Controller and the truck has brand new Toyo 33” all terrain tires. There is a lot of parts that have been CHROMED for looks and durability. I have put a few miles on this truck since the restoration was completed and there is minor wear to reflect this. Not perfect show condition paint anymore with a few small touched up chips but still nice enough that you can’t avoid getting attention where ever you go in it. This truck is turnkey ready with everything in working order. If you want the best and most sought after C/K2500 Custom Cheyenne truck it doesn’t get any better than this. Don’t let this one slip buy who knows when you will ever see another one like it. As a personal take on this vehicle it has a no rust straight body with a great roof that has not had holes punched in it for a cb radio antenna extra lights etc. The hood is of original style and is straight and solid with chrome hinges. The trim has all been replaced and attached with tape anchors so all holes in body have been filled for solid panels but the new owner will want to freshen up some of the tape anchors. The gas cap and fill spout removal is a very clean look and it is so nice not to have the gasoline tank in the cab with you. The motor has allot of nice stuff involved with it including a serpentine systemheaders new style exhaust aftermarket carb and manifold ignition system oil and tranny coolers and lots of chrome. The aftermarket 700 r4 transmission shifts smooth and confident and the overdrive for cruising is awesome. Heating and Air Conditioning work like they should. The tilt wheel is excellent for entry and exiting the vehicle and power steering is smooth and effortless with zero play allowing for “no” wandering while motoring down the road. 4wd locking hubs and transfer case all work smoothly. Inside is a very nice interior with a dash that has no cracks nice carpet sun visors head liner and nice door panels. Everything works as it should (lights wipers signals bright adjustment and nice aftermarket Clarion stereo with booster. I will also include the stock radio with this sale. Finally the custom seats are so much more comfortable than the stock seat and the center console is nice for storage in an older vehicle that was built with limited room. All glass is in excellent condition including the sliding back window. Tinting is just right and the tires are brand new with just enough miles on them to get home from the tire store. The only flaws I can address are the key lock on the driver’s door does not unlock with the key but the passenger door does so I always just went through that one. The tail gate release handle goes high enough to hit the trim piece that borders it so I just move the trim piece when opening the tailgate. The radio antenna was broke off at the last car show and needs replaced. Oh and the tool box has a small ding in the lidand box will need re-keyed as I have no key for the lock (it is currently unlocked and usable). I have supplied pictures in the ad but feel free to contact me with an email addy as I have allot more pictures I can send. orto schedule a look or to ask any questions if there is more you need. I did not do the restoration personally but will still try to answer to the best of my ability. My phone % is 208-867-7047 This truck is a gem from the past and I hope it can bring back as well as create allot of memoriesfor the new owner! I have listed a low beginning price and not posted a reserve price because I trust all potential buyers (have been watching bids and purchases of similar vehicles) to recognize the value this vehicle has to offer. Very few trucks like this with so many options available in one package become available to the general public and you get to determine the price. Take advantage while you can. A non-refundable deposit of $1000.00 is due through Pay Pal within 48 hours of receiving the winning bid and remainder will be due no later than 7 days after that. Title and truck will remain with me until final money’s are received and cash is in my hand. I am old school and comfortable with cash transactions if possible. As I have never shipped a vehicle before this responsibility will belong to the buyer. I however will do all I can to help buyer in any way.
