Description for Chevrolet Impala 1960
1960 Chevrolet Impala ConvertibleAfter reviewing the ad call Clint @ 386-679-8444 for more info. For your consideration is an absolutely gorgeous 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. Plain and simple; don't be in a hurry when you drive this car! The attention thumbs up questions pictures people stopping you at red lights to tell you how awesome your car is is just incredible. Equipped how it should be with a 348 V8 Big Block Tri Power - 3 Dueces 3 x 2 Carburetors Automatic Transmission Power Brakes Power Steering and Air Condition. This car just has “the look”. Paint is the correct 915 code Tasco Turquoise and just beautiful. The depth and shine is visible at any angle. This expression is way over used but it truly needs to be seen in person to appreciate. Pictures just don't do the car or finish justice. Simply gorgeous!! No rust bubbles scratches dirt dings or issues. Please take note in the photos to the clarity of the reflection in the background. Even a 25 year old Maaco paint job will shine. But will not have the clarity or depth of shine that this car has. The Bumpers Trim and Stainless are all excellent. The car has great lines and everything fits up very well doors trunk hood etc. It is not a number 1 perfect car but it is absolutely a strong number 2+ car that will hold its own against a $150000 showpiece.
The undercarriage is extremely clean very solid straight and rust free. No shoddy patch panels holes soft spots Rust or issues. Floors were replaced at some point over the cars history. It was finished well and the correct stamped steel was used that it still looks factory. Trunk area is also very solid and looks great. There is a thin layer of undercoat present which is consistent with a factory or dealer application at that time. Car rides drives and handles like a dream; Straight and smooth down the road with no shimmy's shakes or vibrations. Extremely tight and surprisingly easy to drive. Power steering and power brakes really do make it a pleasure to cruise and maneuver anywhere. I would not hesitate to get behind the wheel of this Hot Rod with my family and drive it anywhere.
Interior is finished in the correct color code 853- Turquoise Vinyl and is beautiful. I am unaware of the age of but carpet door panels seats cushions and interior trim looks exceptional. No rips tears pitting issues etc. and shows very well. All weather strips rubbers etc have been replaced and again shows great. All of the lights turn signals brakes gauges windows etc are functioning properly. The Air Condition blows Ice Cold. Runs and cruises at perfect temperature even in these Florida hot summer days and nights. The wide white wall tires have about 90% tread remaining. I do have the skirts spare tire and original jack in the trunk. Power top was replaced a few years ago and works as it should with a touch of the button. All glass is clear and the windows roll up and down without issue.
The power plant and engine bay is just as impressive as the rest of the car. Firewall and inner fenders have a beautiful finish as does the Chevrolet Orange 348. The engine is stamped FA which appears correct for this 1960 with 280 H.P 9.5:1 Compression and 3 x 2 BC setup. The 3 Rochester 2 Jet Carburetors have been completely rebuilt and all new linkage installed as well. Factory rear end with 3.08 ratio. The original octagon power brake booster as well as the power steering – generator combo is stock and finish off the car like it just rolled off the assembly line. The Dual Exhaust with Glasspacks gives this Impala such a great sound. Odometer shows 68150 miles. I believe that to be original but have no documentation other that physical inspection of the car.
