Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1967
I am helping a friend sell his 1967 SS Camaro. The car was built owned and raced by the same person since 1970. The car was an original Butternut yellow SS 396 4 speed car (information from Cowl Tag). We will start by describing the car first. The car was built with top of the line speed equipment in 1970. It has Competition Engineering frame rails that run from the sub-frame to the rear of the car Six point cage Strange Dana 60 with full floated axles spool 5.86 gears and rear disc brakes. It has ladder bars and leaf spring rear suspension with floater kit. The front suspension is stock 1967 Camaro with Trick Springs and 90/10 shocks. It has front drum brakes (front Disc brakes removed to reduce weight and drag). The car still has the wheels that were installed in 1970 with 14.5X32-15 Goodyear slicks. In 1975 the front clip and doors were replaced with fiberglass to reduce weight. The car has original glass windshield back glass and quarter windows. The door glass was replaced with Lexan. In the late 70’s to early 80’s the car was set up to run a Powerglide transmission. It has a TCI Powerglide with Transbrake and a 5500 stall converter in it today. The car has had many electronic upgrades through the years and now has an MSD Ignition with two step and crank trigger air shifter two crossover/delay boxes (one used for nitrous) and fuel analyzer box. The car has a fuel cell and Griffin aluminum radiator. The car has a serious nitrous system on it - 550 H.P. Fogger system and a 250 H.P. plate system. Now for the engine. 350 Chevy block with billet main caps GM steel crank 6.0” Billet steel rods Wiseco 12.5:1 pistons Moroso oil pan and pump Comp roller cam with rev kit .630 lift 282@.050 on exhaust and .630 lift 276@.050 on intake ported and polished Bowtie iron heads 1.5 Roller rockers on intake 1.6 on exhaust Bowtie Victor Jr. Intake Fulton 850 Holley carburetor 2 1/8” Hooker Super Competition Headers. The car has 10 passes on the engine transmission and slicks. It ran 6.0’s in cool weather and 6.20’s when hot with this combination. That was with a 150 H.P. shot on the plate system only! The car is being sold with the trailer custom built by Prodesign Trailer Mfg. in Blairsville GA. The trailer is painted to match the car with a custom aluminum deck. This is a really nice car that has been garage kept since 1970 and changed very little in appearance since it was first raced. This car could be bracket raced raced at nostalgic race events or if you are not into race cars this would make a killer Pro Street car. The paint is still good and the decals will come off. The car has a clear Tennessee title although the VIN plate was removed from the door jamb in 1970 when the car was painted (he had the plate but we have not been able to locate it). The VIN stamping is still visible on the cowl and matches the title. The Trim tag is still on the car. Several extra parts and equipment go with the car. Some of this includes 2 fire jackets extra 5.38 ring and pinion gear 3 nitrous bottles and extra jets for the nitrous system.
