Description for Chevrolet Corvair 1964

1964 Corvair Spyder, reat condition daily driver. The paint is about what you would expect for a repaint about ten years ago. It has minor dings and chips, ut still looks good. The trunk has surface rust only, nder the carpet and needs to be wire brushed and repainted. There is very little rust on the rest of the car. It was originally I believe aztec bronze with black interior. It is now crocus yellow with white interior, eats and door panels from Clarks. I do not know this for a fact, ut the second owner relayed this to me. From the pictures you can see that the interior is very nice no rips or tears. The carpet was put in by second owner who ran a carpet shop for homes and he put in gray indoor/outdoor carpet. The padded dash was also done about ten years ago, nd has no cracks. It has front seat shoulder belts, ut no rear seat belts. There are Clarks Repro door sills. The floors are solid, nd it still has the factory under coating. The radio is an AM/FM Retro sound and when you turn it on it becomes digital, hen off looks like the old dial type. It has a plug in glove box for an iPod. There is a two speaker duo in front and two speakers inside the rear package tray behind the seat. The antennae is originally rear mounted, ut is not the original antennae. The original engine was not with the car when I bought it, t had a 1966 110 HP engine. Since then I have put in a rebuilt engine consisting of: 1966 140 HP block, ode RM. The bore is standard and It has a replacement 304 cam with a fail-safe gear and locking washer. New rings and bearings, ebuilt 180 HP heads done by Dave Binnie. Also has a 1966 Turbocharger and Carburetor, urbo Serial # 41806, nd Part # 3856709. It has an NOS pressure plate, new clutch disc, hrowout bearing and a Dale Style flywheel, one by Corvair Underground. It also has a new clutch cable and pulleys..The engine is strong, nd will boost in 1st gear. The muffler is a Clarks Turbo Repro with NOS tailpipe extension. It has a front mounted under tank electric fuel pump with low oil pressure shut off switch, nd a primer/off switch for starting and stopping engine. The axle bearings were redone about 2 years ago with new U joints. The differential is a 3:55 Positraction. There are new front and rear engine mounts. The transmission shifts easy and smoothly, t has an EICO quick shift kit. The engine has about 800 miles on it since rebuild and is driven at least once a week. There is a new dual master cylinder with new hoses, teel lines and wheel cylinders. Brakes were replaced at the same time, long with new front wheel bearings, aces and seals. There are new Delco Pleasurizer shocks in rear, nd new Clarks Gabriel shocks in front. There are new rear stabilizer bar bolts and bushings and center cushion. It has new front stabilizer bushings. The tires are Firestone R185-80-13 whitewall and have between 9/32 and 10/32 tread. There is also a spare tire with about the same tread. The car itself has an NOS front and rear grill, OS Spyder side emblems, OS turbocharged rear emblem. Dual Bowtie side view mirrors. I also have NOS outside door handles that go with the car. This is a fairly good representative of a 1964 Spyder, he last of the Spyders. This is an old Collector car and there are no guarantees or warranties. If you are unsure about this car, ou should have someone qualified to inspect it, s Corvairs are not like other Chevrolets. Car is sold as is where is Winning bidder has to arrange for pickup or transport. $500.00 deposit upon winning bid and Car will be released when paid in full.
