Description for Chevrolet Corvair 1965
This is a '65 Corvair convertible, 40 HP engine and a later model Saginaw 4-speed with 3.55 gears and positraction. Has an older paint job but still looks ok, op is good, nterior needs a good cleaning but is in fair shape. This is a California built Corvair an has a power top and telescopic wheel. Has a new set of repro rally wheels and 14" tires put on several years ago and still in new condition. Also had some NOS trim installed when it was painted in 1986. Windshield was replaced then as well. Has always been garage kept the whole time I've owned it (31 years). Engine was correctly built by a great machine shop around 15 years ago from a good complete 140. It probably has less than 100 miles on the engine.
This car does run good and is drivable for short trips but has sat for a very long time and will need the fuel system cleaned out, tc. Does not have the correct carbs on it. It does have a NOS GM gas tank installed about 5 years ago. Has rust under the back seat and trunk bottom. Heater unit has been removed but controls are still there. There is a "fuel injection" emblem added to the engine lid as I was experimenting with FI but had to install these carbs so I could move it around. It is not the original color, ight green with a tan top and fawn interior. Now it's Lemans Blue with white top and interior.
I have a clear Mississippi title in my name in hand. Sold as-is Where is.
