Description for Chrysler LETTER CAR 1958
Chrysler 300 in need of a total restoration. The car is complete except for the parts destroyed by rust. Look closely at the photos, hey are part of the description. I acquired this car in the early 1980's . When I found this car it was rotting away in the owner's backyard sunk in the mud up to the rocker panels. I hauled it home and let it sit in my backyard for the next 30 years until it sank into the mud up to the rocker panels. I kno, hat a waste and how could anyone be so stupid? Father Time got the best of me as I shoveled money into my other project cars ( 1958 New Yorker and 1957 Desoto Fireflite ) and this car was totally neglected. If you have tons of cash to burn this is the car for you. It is mostly complete, he trim pieces missing off the body are included as shown in the photo. The parts that ARE missing : 1. Headlamp buckets (bezels and trim are included ).......2. Badge from trunk lid......3. Some of the #'s from the large badges on the side.... That's i, everything else is there except for about 800 pounds of sheet metal that rusted away. This car has factory air, ruise and all the usual trim that came with a 300. The headliner trim rails run from the back window to the front, ot side to side . What works on the car ? I am sure nothing works, his is NOT A DRIVER. It is a junkyard car, retend you pulled this from a bone yard . If you view it with that in mind you will have no disappointments. The battery is not included, otor is most likely stuck. It rolls easily on the crappy tires that hold air long enough to pull it onto a trailer. All the glass is good, o de-laminatin, he stainless is not dinged up but the pot-metal trim is pitted. The bumpers are not tweaked or dented. Never been in a collision as far as I can tell, nly one dent and that is in the driver's door. The doors do open and close solidl, he drivers door is completely rusted away on the bottom. The trunk floor is mostly gone, ho am I kidding? the trunk is entirely gone, as are the rocker panels. The trunk lid has rust in the typical places. The hood has rust in the corners. All the body repair panels are available ( not included ) WORST part are the rear kick-ups on the chassis. Look at the photos to observe severe rust and rusted frame boxes. If you read this far and are still interested then you know the amount of labor you are in for. Make no mistak, his car must be disassembled and completely rebuilt, ut they are rare, orth saving and are beautiful when finished. Unfortunately for me I do not have a vault full of gold bars to take on another project. If this sounds like your cup of tea, tart bidding and good luck . The fine print: car is sold as-is, o warranty, o returns, o you may not phone me 2 hours before the auction ends and ask to view it in person, am not a dealership so do not ask to inspect it in person ( what am I hiding? nothing, already told you the car is a piece of junk) You are responsible for delivery and the license plate IS included. Oh wait a minute, am hiding something, he tie rod for steering popped out the socket.
