Description for Chrysler Other 1925
This 1925 Chrysler has undergone a complete restoration, aving been torn down to the frame.
I rode in this car and it started right up, t did not smoke, nock or tick and it ran great when the owner and I drove around in it.
It still has the original 4 cylinder engine in it and a stock 3 speed transmission; the engine was completely rebuilt but not bored, t still has standard bore cylinders.
The original Chrysler VIN tag is still attached to the dash on the driver's side by the steering wheel. The word Chrysler is written in cursive overlaying the actual Vehicle Identification Number, r "letters and numbers".
The interior was all re-upholstered, ncluding the carpet, eadliner, ront seat etc. The material on the top of the car was replaced during the restoration as well.
It has all4 of the original factory installed wood spoke wheels; and both wooden running boards have been rebuilt. The wood lining in the trunk has all been replaced.
The odometer shows 20010 miles on it but that is not accurate. The headlights do not work, ut they are both original and complete; so are the purple running lights that are in the stock location (to the left and right of the hood). The paint is the only thing that is not a stock replacement. It is a beautiful dark, bright), etallic purple color.
This car has been and is regularly driven to car shows and other events. The paint and body work were done by the owner, o it is not perfect, here are imperfections like sanding lines that were not detailed out properly before painting it, nd some orange peel due to the temperature being too cold while spraying it, utoverall this old car is in beautiful condition for being 90 years old. If you are looking for a car that you can enjoy with your family and friends, t is perfect. It would also be great for driving in parades. Chrysler put hydraulic brakes on their vehicles and was the first automobile manufacturer to do so; they were also the first to use rubber motor mounts in 1925.
I've added some additional pictures of the car after it was purchased by the current owner, efore the restoration started and after the frame etc, ad been reconditioned.
This car was restored over 20 years ago and has been well kept in the same garage since it was completed. The awesome thing about it is as all of you car collectors know, t takes a special love of your pride and joy to keep it protected from the elements decade after decade, nd a long term commitment to keep it safe from rats, ice, ain, ail and any of the other elements or animals that might do harm to a restored vehicle and that is exactly why this vehicle was not scrapped or destroyed for 90 years now. It is lucky for us that the current owner discovered this Chrysler somewhere in Kansas and decided he was going to restore it, rive it, njoy it and protect it all of these years.
You can see that this was a good solid core car with all of the original steel body panels intact and the original running gear including the engine, ransmission and wheels.
