Description for Chrysler Imperial 1965

Imperial on ebayThis 1965 Imperial Crown convertible is an ultra-clean California car. No rust ever on this car. It is ready to go with a smooth running motor. smooth transmission. very good power steering and brakes. The gauges all work. power seats work. power antenna works. power top works. head lights and signals work. wipers work. etc. etc. In the pictures the paint looks almost tan in color but it is quite gold in person. There are about a hundred pictures of the car on my Photobucket page. Copy the web address into your browser to see the pictures (the large bold text only). If you can't get there. contact me and I'll email you a link to click on. There are photos showing the underside. the undamaged wheel wheels. the clean motor. the flawless trunk. panel gaps. and much more. http://s1313. photobucket. com/user/mrcob/library/1965%20Imperial We are a classic car restoration shop and have really enjoyed owning this rare car. We are selling the car because we are short of space and. believe it or not. we own a second '65 Imperial convertible that needs restoration. You can check us out at FastTimeResto. com. This car was bought new in 1965 by the Fox movie studio. They owned it for a couple of years and it has had only three owners since then. Fox ordered the car with the parade style convertible top covers. These pieces are. remarkably. in like-new condition. Fox also ordered the car with a rare non-tinted windshield. I have a tinted windshield in nice condition that comes with the car. Another rarity that they ordered is headrests. I took the pictures without the headrests installed because I think the car looks better without them. This Imperial is unrestored and has been well maintained. It has had one repaint which looks very good. The only imperfection in the paint is a small chip on the driver's side fender. where it meets the driver's door. It has been touched up with matching paint and is hard to notice. I took a picture but it is hard to see the spot. The car is not in need of restoration but there will be small things here and there. like some interior lights. that you could address. Much of the car looks brand new. If you look under the trunk carpet. or under the dash. for example. it looks like the car was made yesterday. Underneath the car there is no corrosion except light surface rust. The frame. wheel wheels. floors. body panels are all great and have never been repaired. A new convertible top was installed at some point. The rear window zipper must have broken and the zipper has been sewn together (see pictures). It looks perfect from the outside. The top's power opening and closing works great. The dash has been refurbished. The prior owner spent liberally to fix or buy everything (I think) to restore the air conditioning system. Included with the car are the restored and new AC parts. including a new compressor. The tires are very good and the spare is new. The trunk carpet is in such good shape that I'm guessing it has been replaced. I think the interior carpet is original. The original jack is still installed in the trunk. Also included are the original owners manual. a 1965 Imperial brochure. and a vin decoding document from Chrysler. The cruise control does not work but all the components are in place. Beside AC and cruise control. anything else that would be a big deal to fix already works fine. The car is located in New Canton. Virginia. between Charlottesville and Richmond. about two hours south of Washington. DC. We drove it for a hour and half cruise last month. mostly at 70 mph and had no problems. So. you could drive it some distance home. if you choose to. On Nov-22-14 at 07:11:30 PST. seller added the following information:A couple more things. The electric windows work from the drivers control panel (but not the vent windows). I just tested the windows at each passenger seat and they aren't working from those controls. They were about a month ago and nothing has happened since then. Maybe I jostled some wires when I was cleaning up the car. The vinyl cover that goes between the hard covers for the convertible is hard to connect to the metal strip on the back of the seat. It needs some tweaking or maybe a new cover that is easier to work with could be made from the big cover that goes over the back seats. I think that big cover is from the factory because there are attachments for it on the car that look original. I've never seen one on any other Imperial. though.
