Description for Chrysler Town & Country 1948

Up for sale is a 1948 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible. ONLY 196 OF THESE CARS SURVIVE TODAY AND ARE SOUGHT AFTER BY COLLECTORS. I have owned the car since 2007. It has a good start on a complete frame-off restoration.
When I bought the car the body and floor pans had been welded and restored with good solid metal (see pics). The wood had been restored by the Klein family with partial wood replacement and most of the original wood preserved. The frame had been blasted and powder coated black. The brakes had been redone with new brakes lines, master and wheel cylinders. The engine, carburetor, transmission, starter and generator had been rebuilt in 2004 and has never been run. Oil has been placed in all 8 cylinders and I have manually turned the engine every two weeks with a 1 and 13/16 inch socket on a 1 inch drive with a 2.5 foot handle. The engine is the correct matching numbers C39 straight eight. Since I have had the car I have had the radiator professionally recored and restored, and the gas tank and sending unit professionally restored. I have also primed and sprayed the firewall and dash with Newport Blue, but it needs wet sanding and final re-spraying.
I bought a complete wiring harness from Rhode Island wiring (still in box) with correct cloth exterior and modern insulation under the cloth exterior. The inner fenders are blasted and powder coated gloss black. The metal trunk and door panel inserts are unrestored but complete with no dents and I have an original roll of Dinoc. I believe I have the rest of the entire car in boxes in unrestored condition including the seats and convertible frame and top.
I have an extensive inventory list I can email on request. Most chrome is in need of replating including the bumpers, but the trunk hinges have been replated. The car has a good frame-off start, but the rest of it will need complete restoration. Considering the restored value of a solid restoration is generally around $140K, It will definitely not take $80K to finish the rest of this restoration.
I have a clear title. I have a notebook with receipts and a ton of pics in it including the previous owner's documentation. I live about 25 minutes away from Dulles Airport in Northern Virginia about 30 miles West of Washington, D.C. The motor will be returned to the engine compartment prior to transport, I removed it to spray the firewall. This will be a great vehicle when completed, I have just run out of available time to ever finally complete it.
