Description for Chrysler Imperial 1969
Up for sale my 1969 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron 4 door hardtop.Had one just like this one in high school.....(I know that is kinda weird), drove it on to college and went on my honey moon in it. Sold it in 1977.
Looked forever for another one like it and finally found it. No way to verify this as the guy I purchased it from did not have history, but from all I can tell
59,000 miles seems to be original. It drives too good and looks too good on the inside to have much more.
When I bought it below the back window on both sides were rusted through. The vinyl top was completely rotten, but she drove home like a brand new one.
Had all the bad metal cut out, new paint everywhere, new vinyl top, new gas tank, new master cylinder. Complete tune up and clean up.
New front seats by one of the best upholsterers I have ever met. They are vinyl, the back seats are still original leather and you can hardly tell the difference.
New carpet, new AC compressor. Radio and 8 track does not work, they will play faintly, but I think the amp is out. Reworked power antenna, along with the headlight door motor and the
sequential turn signals. Cruise control works, AC works.....but the automatic temp control is weak....I think they all were. Got a leak I haven't found underneath the AC core on the passenger side.
I have purchased new hose for heater hoses, but haven't put them on yet. Will be glad to install them if you buy or give them to you.
Carb was rebuilt by Chrysler dealer friend of mine. The 440 is as smooth as they come.
Took it on several 20, 30, 100 mile trips. No problems, floated like a dream.
Original jack, in the trunk with a new spare.
Purchased the carpet and piping for my upholsterer to make a tire cover, but he hasn't had time to do it yet. Again, I can pass the materials on to you orI most likely can get him to do it.
Only one small problem body wise. Right after I got it back from the body shop the master cylinder skipped on me as I was pulling it in to the garage. At about 3 MPH I took the corner out of my garage and cracked the paint
on the front fended just below where the turn signal light is on the passenger side. My body man has been slammed also, so I haven't gotten it fixed, but it is very small.
So.....why am I selling it? Life changes and I have too many projects and cars. Probably be sick when she goes.
I don't really have a lot of time for everyone to come and drive it unless you are sincerely interested in buying. I would love to talk Mopar all day with anyone who is interested, but like I said, very busy right now.
If you are looking for a daily driver that almost no one has, this is it.
If you are a Imperial nut and want to continue with full restoration you will probably never find a better one. No rust anywhere. Factory undercoat.
$12,500 or make me an offer, but make it one that I can live with.
If you have less than 10 transactions or very little feedback you may not hear back from me.
I am serious about selling, expect you to be serious about buying.
Thanks for you time and hope to hear from you.
Email me if you need specific information or you want pics of something I didn't show.
