Description for Chrysler Other 1949
Recent paint. Recent interior including headliner. seat covering. door panels. carpet. kick panels. rear deck panel. "B" pillar panels. Sound deadening installed on the entire floor including trunk. All new cloth braid wiring throughout. Engine rebuilt - original Spitfire flathead six cylinder. New clutch. New brakes. master cylinder and wheel cylinders. New wide white wall tires with narrow white wall spare. All front end components have been replaced with new. All new shocks. All gages work with the exception of the water gage. (Could not locate another cap tube fore the original) After market water temp gage. Items need to be finished - all chrome and stainless has not been touched. Rear fender trim needs to be installed (I have the trim). Dash pads need new foam and covering. All interior window trim was not touched but looks good. Needs door sills (have not been able to locate replacements - I have the original sills that go with the car) Heater core and assembly is there but not hooked up. Sun visors need covering and installation. Steering wheel is wrapped with vinyl due to degraded original material. Brake drums could use resurfacing along with an alignment. Car is a 6 volt system. Runs and drives like a 1949 would. Radio does not work. New weather stripping including all windows. I have driven the car around town with the most miles on one trip approx. 50. No running issues. no overheating issues. Approx 800 miles since the engine rebuild. All windows crank and wing window open as they should. All glass is good. Paint is good and shines very well. Not the best paint job or a 100 point car but sure looks good. Once purchased you can start this car and drive off. However. if your trip consist of a long distance. I would recommend you have it transported to your mechanic for a full inspection before taking such a trip. After all. even though this car has been rebuilt. it is still a 1949 with a 6 volt system.
