Description for Chrysler Other 1960
1960 Chrysler WindsorUp for sale is a wonderful 1960 Chrysler Windsor 4 door sedan. This car has the coolest gauge setup of any iconic 60s car, and has push button shifter! For almost 12 years and during that time my wife has used it as a sunday driver and a daily driver. The 383 has been a very dependable driver, neverleaving her stranded, always starting, never overheating. The cute pink paint is the original paint!!! And this is the original interior. The car has never been apart. During our ownership we have had the starter rebuilt, replaced the radiator, rebuilt the carburetor, and put new tires on it. The car is lowered a little, with lowering blocks on the rear and the torsion bars are adjusted down in the front, it can easily be put back up to stock height. The car does not smoke, idles perfectly, and doesn't leak any motor oil. Overall the car is great, we have no fears of getting in this car and going on a road trip. The windshield is in great shape. The Interior isawesome, seatsdon't have any tears and still look great, dash pad is in good shape as well. The Windsor is the base model and so this has the radio delete, heater works great. The taillights are in great shape with no cracks.
In full disclosure I am going to detail the areas of the car that are not in great shape. The Chrysler does have some rust. both rear quarters at the lower flanges have rust, one is worse than the other (see pics) and the trunk floor is rusty. I believe the front passenger floor pan has some rust in it as well. The hood at some point before we purchased it had been bumped into something and made a dent on the side. Wehad the starter professionally rebuilt, but it nowoccasionally thesolenoid will just click when you try to start it, but if you try the starter a few times it works fine. The previous owner that we bought thecar from had theawesome gauge cluster rebuilt, and then he just reinstalled it without hooking it all back up, so none of the gauges work, I never took the time to try and figure it out, so we installed a set of basic gauges to monitor the oil, water temp. A piece ofwindlace on the right rear door is drooping down and needs to be reattached. otherwise the interior is in fabulous shape. If the car sits for a few weeks without being started the transmission torque converter will drain back to the pan, and subsequently leaking on the floor. I have been told that this is a common problem on these cars.
The reserve price is set very fair on this awesome car, especially for one you can drive home. If you bid please intend on paying, no scammers, your not fooling me with your broken english and stupid questions.
