Description for Chrysler New Yorker 1970
You are looking at a time capsule. This beautiful land yacht has been driven less then 10,000 miles by it's original owner. The New Yorker was then purchased by the owner of a new car dealership in northern Illinois and kept in his personal collection for years. Exterior: The original paint looks amazing. The body lines are clean and the gaps are good. The original vinyl top looks new. The chrome and bright work is crisp. The stainless side trim... is arrow straight. The grill is spotless. The stainless windshield and rear window trim is dent free. The original door seals, trunk and window seals are soft and supple. The rear bumper has a small dent (as seen in the pictures) that we decided not to have straightened and re-chromed to keep it original. The white wall radial tires look new. The full wheel covers are factory correct. Interior: The factory seats look new, with not discoloration or seam splits. The headliner has no sags or seam splits. The dash and instrument panel look like the day the Chrysler New Yorker left the showroom. The door panels are also in beautiful condition. All the glass is spotless. With the history of the car, we couldn't help but look for the build sheet. We pulled the bottom of the back seat out and sure enough, there it was. It was in great condition (see the picture), so we left it in place. Engine Compartment: The 440/350 horse power V8 big block engine and under the hood components, have been nicely detailed. The air conditioning has been converted from R12 to R134 and blows ice cold. Trunk: The trunk shows near new, with it's original spare and jack. The trunk liner still has it's cardboard trim is in place. This is an absolutely beautiful example of a full size performance luxury car. It is certainly one of the lowest mileage 1970 Chrysler New Yorker's in existence. Just turn the key and go back in time.
