Description for Chrysler Imperial 1962
Up for Auction is a 1962 Imperial Crown 2 Door Hardtop. The car runs and drives good I have driven the car to Las Vegas and California for car shows. The Engine leaks oil from the oil pan gasket. and the Trans leaks from the pan Gasket and seals. The valve cover gaskets have been replaced along with the Water Pump. Belts. Thermostat. and Radiator has been redone. The heater core is at the shop now and will be replaced before the car sells. The Interior needs to be redone the front seat shows lots of wear. The dash pad needs replaced and the steering wheel has some cracks. The headliner has rips from the Arizona Heat. The car has had 1 repaint sometime in the 90's. The brakes are all new and the Emergency brake works great. It has too because there was no park in the Automatic trans in 1962. Neutral and E brake was how they were parked. The Imperial has the original 413 Engine and 727 Torque Flight Automatic Trans. The tires are new have somewhere around 850 miles on them. When I Purchased the car it had been setting for around 8 years. In the last year I have put somewhere around 2500 miles on the car. It rides nice down the Highway The speedometer doesn't work but all other gauges do. There is NO RUST on the car solid floors and Trunk. Both the rear and Front Bumper have the same small dent in them looks like someone hit the same object with the front and the back. All the Interior material can be purchased from SMS Auto Fabric. The samples and price list will go with the car. The Imperial Emblem on the Passenger side is missing the Silver P in Imperial but a new Emblem will go with the car. You won't find a nicer 1962 Imperial Crown 2 door Hardtop out there. There was only 1. 10 made in 1962 and most were destroyed in Demo Derby's in the 90's. The paint on the car is good for it's age with only a few scratches and a few chips around the doors. All the glass on the car is original 2 of the pictures of the glass I tried to show the Bubbles on the Windshield and Back Window to show they are the original. On the Imperials and not sure what other Mopars from the 60's the front and rear glass had a bubble in the middle of the glass from the factory. If the glass was replaced those Bubbles would not be there. The studs on the left side are still left handed thread to pull the wheels off. another Mopar thing. If you have any Questions feel free to call me at 928 514 9585 Monday Through Friday 1:00 to 8:00 P. M. Mountain time any time on Saturday or Sunday. Storing the car until pickup is not a problem. When getting shipping Quotes the car is 19' 9 " long from bumper to bumper.
