Description for Datsun Z-Series 1978
Up for auction is my 1978 Datsun 280Z with a Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder body kit installed. I purchased this 2 years ago, ollected some extra parts for it, ut have not had a chance to work on it. It is a beautiful car when cleaned up and i hate to see it just sitting in my garage. First off, here currently is no title. Previous owner was moving, e lost the title and had no interest in getting a duplicate. So i bought it on a bill of sale. I started the process at my local DMV to get a title. I paid the fees and had the vin researched. It came back clear and last titled in the name of the person who i had bought it from. I will give all this info to new owner. When i purchased it, drove it around briefly to test everything. It ran, rakes worked, ights worked and clutch felt good. Ignition is still apart because i had to get a key made for it. Now that it has sat, ither the clutch disc is stuck to flywheel or the slave cylinder went bad. I am including another slave cylinder and reservoir in the auction. Just keep in mind to move it, t must be started in gear. So it will need to be towed. The interior is in very nice condition. The steering wheel is an actual Ferrari wheel. It has a brace installed between rear shock towers. The convertible conversion looks very nice. The leather seats are BMW Recaro seats. They are nice but in my opinion a little too wide for the car. So also included in the auction is a set of factory 280Z seats. Drivers seat has some wear, ut both are still nice. The dash has the plastic molded cover on it. The top functions as it should but the fabric should be replaced to be perfect. The rear window is fogged. Also included are completely redone front and rear suspensions. With new brakes, ew bushings, ew struts, ew springs and new sway bar. The paint is nice and shiny but does have a couple imperfections. Paint is cracked in 1 spot on passenger Q-panel, couple bubbles on passenger side by the windshield frame and drivers side lift up panel by the hood is not the same color. The body does have a little rust, ut nothing like the typical East Coast Z car. 1 small spot on drivers side frame, small spot on drivers side floor, ery bottom on the inside of rear Q-panels and rust starting to show on very bottom lip of rocker panels but it is just surface rust. All areas shown in pics. The tires have great tread but show dry rot from sitting. The rims are true spoke wheels but do have surface rust in some areas. It has the center knock off cap conversion on them. It has Ferrari emblems on the car. To the average person who sees this car, hey think it is real. This car definitely turns heads. So here is a chance to own a nice Ferrari replica car. The cleaned up pics are from when i got it. The dusty pics are as it sits in my garage. Now the legal stuff. A 250.00 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction close. This shows me that you are an honest buyer and not just playing games. Deposit can be paid through paypal. Balance due within 3 days of auction close. I will not accept paypal for the balance. Cash or wire transfer only. The car can remain stored in my garage for a reasonable amount of time to allow pick up by you or a shipping company but it must be paid for in the required time. I can assist in loading. I have 100% good feedback and have listed all i know about my car. Please ask any and all questions prior to auction end. You may call me directly at 302-531-5185 and i will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Reserve is set very reasonable. I just want it to go to someone who has the time to put it back on the road and enjoy it.
