Description for Datsun Z-Series 1972
The Datsun 240Z is a two-seat sports coupe produced by Nissan Motors, td. of Japan from 1969 to 1978. It was designed by a team led by Mr. Yoshihiko Matsuo, he head of Nissan's Sports Car Styling Studio. Introduced to the American market by Yutaka Katayama president of Nissan Motors USA operations, idely known as Mr. K. The model year 1972 240Z was referred to as the Series II. All had 4-wheel independent suspension with Front disc brakes and rear drum standard with a 2.4L motor in-line six cylinder motor and dual SU carbs.
What we have here is a very rare find. An original owner 1972 Datsun 240Z (Series S30) with full documentation, riginal window sticker, ervice manual, pare parts still in the original boxes and every repair record dating back to 1972! A rust free car that has always been garaged with 87,277 original miles and is fully documented. Running and driving great with no known needs. The story of this car as per the owner is below dating back to the day of purchase. Since 1978 this Z had only having 12,000 miles put on it. The car also has Koni shocks all around, pdated halogen headlamps and 2 ¼ exhaust so sounds amazing.
Manufactured in October of 1971 this car was purchased on February 1, 972 at Sound Move Datsun in Westbury, Y. In February of 1972 to July 1974 he used car in the NY area and it was garaged in Manhattan, Y. In the summer of 1972 it took its first trip to the west coast. A front spoiler was added in Texas to keep the car stable on the two lane interstates out west. After his return in summer of 1972 until the summer 1974 he joined army and the car was garaged in Fort Knox, Y. In the summer of 1974 he took his second trip to the west coast. In the fall 1974 to summer of 1977 he returned back from army to attend college in Boston, A. After Boston in 1977 to fall 1978 he moved to Bridgewater, J and in 1978 the car was taken off the road as a full time car and has since only been driven 12,000 miles. In February, 991 the car was taken down to bare metal and rebuilt, ll panels showing any signs of rust replaced and he has full photo documentation of all. It was then painted Galiano Fly yellow, 1982 Ferrari Daytona color.
