Description for Datsun Z-Series 1971
It's time to let my baby go. Up for sale is my 1971, numbers-matching, all original Datsun 240z-- finished in number 114 metallic bronze. This car is an unmolested example of a well cared for Z. This car was purchased and owned originally by a professor in Santee, California. I am the second owner. It still has its original engine and carburetors, along with its manual four-speed transmission. The suspension is still original--on factory springs. Original wheels are Enkeis factory optioned from dealer. The body and drivetrain are rust free--floors, rails, battery tray, and rear hatch are all rust free, with original paint intact.Interior is in very good, original condition with new hides on seats. Headliner and sun visors are original and in perfect condition. Windows roll up and down effortlessly and doors lock with original keys. Rear hatch locks as well. New carpets are flawless. Blower and vents work well. Paint is in good condition, considering its age (still shines and is very presentable). Single side view mirror is factory original.
Tires are all matching with plenty of tread. All signals and lights work. Gauges work (barring the clock) and as a testament to its originality, the cockpit retains its original working Hitachi radio.
The car performs beautifully at highway speeds and I have driven it back and forth from Paso Robles to Los Angeles with no issues whatsoever. I receive compliments everywhere I go. New alternator (upgraded Bosch 60 amp) just installed (and yes, even the engine bay service light still works). This is a beautiful classic car that is appreciating rapidly. It is an investment you can enjoy driving. My only reason for selling is a purchase of an E-Type (wife is complaining).
Serious buyers may request specific photographs. I will be happy to assist.
